To be fair we don't know the method by which that information was obtained, so maybe they hadn't seen lucina or robin. Chrom also does seem to be playable in some fashion judging by the video, so gematsu wasn't entirely wrong. 95% of guessed characters correct is not a bad statistic.

So like I'm trying to rewatch the video and all I'm getting is a still live stream telling me to refresh in which doing so brings me back to the same thing.

According to the site, Lucina/Robin/Marth/Ike are their own characters. I don't see Chrom anywhere though. But holy fuck that Captain Falcon looks so fucking real

THIS IS EVERYTHING I WANTED FROM FIRE EMBLEM IN SMASH Lucina getting announced first was so good I always wanted her to be in but I thought Chrom would take the spotlight. Finally a wizard character and they seems so cool to play as. CHROM TOO WHY NOT.

So the leaker saw the Xenoblade developer tweeting the video, thought that that meant Shulk was a sure bet and made the prediction to try and seem like the ultimate authority when Shulk was revealed today. But he wasn't.
