She's a fairly bland and boring one, yes. But nonetheless a character. EDIT: I'm assuming the disagree is for her being boring. Her design is cool and all, but if we judge from the trailer, she's only Marth with a slightly different flavour. I'm all for more cool female chracters, but there was better options, even within the Fire Emblem universe.

There's no precedent to this. Every other alt costume is either a gender swap or a variation on the same character, she'll have different dialogue and I'm expecting Dark Pit will get the same treatment.

On the other hand, Gematsu correctly guessed Villager, Mega Man, WFT, Palutena, Mii, Pac-Man, Little Mac, and Greninja (though in Greninja's case, "Pokemon from X/Y" was stated). As was the case with Rosalina, Robin might have been a character Gematsu missed, and the whole Chrom fiasco does support the case that the roster documents the Gematsu leaker used were preliminary documents before the final roster was ultimately determined. I'm not saying that the Gematsu leak is real, nor am I outright deconfirming it. The leak is an interesting case, with characters being confirmed from it, and characters not in the leak being confirmed. We also have the e-mail Sal got from the leaker before the actual reveal, which might have been an itchy trigger finger from someone who saw the Xenoblade director's retweets of the event and though Shulk would be the revealed character. For now, just mark the leak as "in question."

Main line games are excusable to an extent due to how mainstream they are but that's about it. But I suppose "lel ur dum" is way easier to type/rate than writing something that argues for the inclusion of 4 characters from a series that has a somewhat niche appeal.

She's a clone character who'll probably have some unique moves and capabilities to herself, not an alt skin. Like Fox and Falco. It's as simple as that, no need to segue into some giant shitstorm about how she's an alt costume or some shit.

Her animation are NOT the same, no matter how many times some people will state it. Her posing is vastly different, even if all the swordmen have somewhat similar animation in some cases. There's only so many ways you can jump with a sword in your hand.
