But isn't there a whole plot point that they're pretending to be Marth? The name not changing would make sense to fans of the series thanks to this, seen as a reference or easter egg and not an oversight.
This was the ONE TIME they could've done that and gotten away with it.

They did this with Pokemon Trainer if you selected a specific one to start with in Brawl for announcer shout outs. Could argue that it takes a bit of work to go from alt > character because of dev time spent on balancing the + and - changes even on clones, but that's up to Sakurai to decide if it's worth doing even if it's minor.

Considering the mere existence of Lucina spoils the whole disguise factor to begin with.. If they wanted to do a Marth alt costume for her, it would've been an entire posture and clothing change anyway, since this Marth has a radically different costume than before.

To be fair it's incredibly obvious from the get-go, but yeah I'm not sure that was the best thing to do for the trailer.
Tharja assist just has her throw a curtain of darkness over whoever she hits.

Trailers, commercials, advertisements - pretty much everything treated Lucina as a late-arrival spoiler after Awakening's release. Smash Bros is just the tip of the iceberg.

It's funny because I literally never saw anything about her until now. Not a single advertisement or trailer at all. That's why I was confused, because I only just got to the part in the game where her mask gets knocked off.

Robin is the character you play as. It's just in the game you have the ability to customize them. But the white hair is the default and canon look.
Was it pointed out yet that Robin's tomes have a different color? And it they seem to be related to the attack red = fire, etc.
So I wonder if it's something he can replenish and throw away. Like Turnips.
(If his book changes color in Awakening I wouldn't know as I haven't played it.)

I'm pretty sure the books are different spell books you can equip to Robin for different spells, last I remember. And just like anything else in Fire Emblem, they have a limited number of charges/uses before they ran out like normal weapons do.

Yeah I know but I was wondering considering the color changes they actually can be replenished or changed mid battle.
Heard some comments suggesting he could run out of ammo on that stock on other forums, so just trying to figure out what the deal actually is.

I'm guessing the colored books depend on his moveset.

Not sure if this is the case as on his page you can see 4 different books. Red, Green, Yellow, Purple. Moveset customization is up to 3 on a button + direction and it would be strange for his book to suddenly switch color? In the video he does 4 different lightning moves and a couple of the others.
Maybe a more apt comparison would be "Pikmins but as a item"?
