I have no doubt Ness would return like Falcon due to being a veteran since the 64 days, although Lucas is more questionable.

What if it's just Neutral B.
It could cycle in order or randomly (cycles seem a lot more fair, like Pac-man's Neutral B) through the spell books and use it until it depletes the book. Press B to pull out another one.
The other directions will vary depending on weither or not he has a book out. OR they are indepentdant of the book, they only change visually (Red book conjures flames on the other specials, etc).
Really, I can't wait.
So, after today's reveals, this is what the roster looks like right now if Lucina is a Marth clone:

In the former case, SSB4 has actually exceeded the amount of roster slots from Brawl. In the latter case, the numbers are tied. However, Brawl had 39 characters if you count the transformations (which are being counted separately in SSB4), so we have a few more characters to go before we completely exceed Brawl's numbers.
Ninja'd, but that's to be expected seeing as how fast this thread flies.

I could see that happening yeah, forgot about Pac man having the cycling thing.
Considering the item unequip sound for the book I wonder if he'll not be able to hold items with the book out as well. (Like again Turnips.)

All this confusion aside, I am really glad to see the expansion of alt skins from just palette swaps to stuff such as wireframe Mac and Male/Female Robin. It adds a lot of variety, at least visuals-wise, to the game.
I could totally see Lucina and Chrom being costume swaps of Marth, seeing how they all weild the same weapon, plus having 5 characters in a developing (outside of japan) series doesn't seem like a great idea since there's so many other series that could use representation.
