this isn't valuable information to somebody who has no idea about the metroid series, this describes nothing about the gameplay it's just like "this is a good game you have to play it"
None of the descriptions say anything about the gameplay. Nothing about your jumpan or shootan

it's rare now, didn't sell very well but had limited production and unique content

Cheapest I've found in the UK is £55 pre-owned.

I don't think it's all that rare, but it still has a $50+ price tag just about anywhere you look.

No, it's really common, trust me
hey listen, uhm... can I buy it for $5?
That game was literally on the shelves for like 3 months before it was discontinued. Nintendo wasn't kidding when they said it was only a collector's edition.
[sp]I will never let my copy go, it's like my most prized treasure[/sp]
I managed to find a new copy of het trilogy for about €40,- half a year ago.
Don't think the store knew what it was really worth, it was also the only copy they had left.

man there were a few copies on the self at the local walmart for like almost a year
if only I had known
I had no idea it was a collector thing
If you're just getting into Metroid for the first time I'd actually recommend Fusion. It's got enough direction for new players to make good progress, but there are definitely still a lot of "I need to go there. How do I get there?" headscratcher moments that'll make you feel like a genius when you figure them out.
The nav rooms are just your suggested path at any given time, you can still deviate as far as your current abilities allow (and HAVE to if you want anything over 30% item completion)
[editline]t[/editline]
It's also got one of the most genuinely terrifying antagonists in the series' entirety. People who've played before know who I mean.
They need to fucking remake Metroid 2 so bad.
It's the only game with all of the Metroid forms, that is the stages of life of the creature the SERIES IS NAMED AFTER, and it sets up the plot for the most well-loved game in the series. But the only way to experience it is in 4 shades of gray.
Good thing that fan remake was making good progress around the time of that Metroid speedrunning marathon earlier this year.

Yeah that fan remake has been in development for years now. Glad someone is remaking it, no way I'd play the original.

There's so much metroid talk I tought I was in the Wii U megathread. Anyhow, I would really like if Phoenix Wright was in the game. Except for MvC 3, I'm pretty sure he was only on Nintendo consoles. He was also in a fighting game.

doesn't fit

I didn't really like his appearance in MvC, so if he was to work like he did in that game I'm happy to give him a miss.
doesn't fit
that's exactly why he was in mvc
doesn't fit
Just like Villager and Wii Fit Trainer.
Before Villager: "That game is too peaceful for a character from it to work"
Before WFT: "Who? What a wasted idea, never happening"
Some other hypothetical examples:
Before SSB:
"Captain Falcon? That guy who just sits in a ship and never does anything? How would he fight?"
"Fox McCloud? That guy who just sits in a ship and never does anything? How would he fight?"
Before SSBM:
"Ice Climbers would make no sense, how would you control two characters at once?"
"Mr. Game & Watch? He'd look so jerky and bad, why would you want him in a game like this?"
"Nobody would even know who the hell these fire emblem characters are, adding them would be a dumb move."
Before SSBB:
"ROB? Really? That weird old toy? What would he even do?"
"Sonic? Snake? What do you think this is, Mugen? Besides, Snake is too violent."
"Pit only had one game. No way in hell."
"Olimar wouldn't work no matter how you look at it. He never does any fighting himself."
"Doesn't fit" is bullshit. You have no imagination, is the real problem.
excepting when your fighter is just 2big to literally fit the stages
excepting when your fighter is just 2big to literally fit the stages
You need to learn to get Ridley of that assumption.
anyone fits in a game with no rules other than "must have a game on a nintendo console".
There's no such thing as "Too big" for a Smash fighter if Jigglypuff returns with her old final smash, and Mario can grow twice his size by his own will taunting. (Maybe not permanently, but he still did it.)
Also, has anyone else ever played giant mode in Melee, with super mushrooms and Mario only? Taunting was ridiculous.
"but sempai its too big for a figthan game"
"but sempai its too big for a figthan game"
* Gold Lightan *
Pretty extreme example, but yeah, that. It balances out in that game because it locks you to only one character (while your opponent can pick two smaller ones), your hitbox is huge, your movements are easy to read, and your supers can be surprisingly tough to land.
In Smash though... The stages are very different from the average fighting game. There are doorways and nooks and other small openings that they need to make sure ALL of the characters can fit into. Otherwise someone like Fox could just sit in a crevice you can't reach and stall out the match in his favor. Very big characters - ones as big as Gold Lightan - would require much more open stage design where this is not possible. It's much harder than you think to add a giant character to Smash.
Too big? Oh, hey, Big-Zam.

Don't forget, Star Fox and Fire Emblem don't deserve more than 2 characters.
Also speaking of TvCU, I can't be the only one who wishes they'd include Megaman Volnutt as an alternate costume in Smash4.
I will probably get flamed pretty hard for saying this, but that's my favorite design. I dunno why.
[editline]t[/editline]
I know it's already in the final smash, but they could just swap classic Megaman in his place if you're using Volnutt.

I'd just wish they included Bad box art megaman colors as alternate colors for Megaman.
