It just seems he might fit better as an assist trophy IMO.

They're great. I admit I've gotten lazy with playing the recent ones but I played the first 3 and they haven't disappointed.

Also I would've liked the idea of Layton as a fighter. He's a smart cookie. He knows how to build contraptions that he could use in battle and he is actually pretty apt at swordplay.
