On the bright side at least we get to hear Layton's voice discuss the new Smash Bros? Would be even cooler if he talked in character.

Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land - Wario storms and ransacks the Brown Sugar Pirate's base in Kitchen Island, takes all their loot, completely wrecks their building. And then Mario swoops in and takes the Princess Peach statue that they had stolen from the Mushroom Kingdom. Wario also steals the genie that Captain Syrup had acquired after defeating her. Wario Land 2 - Black Sugar Gang comes back, kicks Wario out of his castle while he's asleep and steals all of his treasures. Wario must revisit Kitchen Island to reclaim his loot. Wario Land: Shake It - Captain Syrup steals a strange globe-like object and has it delivered to Wario's home under the guise of it being with good intentions. Since Wario sees who it's from, first thing he wants to do is just smash the thing with a hammer. Once Wario gets convinced by Merfle to help save the Shake Dimension (of course by mentioning treasure), he gladly joins up. Wario still is visibly dissatisfied with having to work with Captain Syrup. By the end of the game, Wario has saved the Shake Dimension, rescued the princess (who he quickly tossed aside when she tried to kiss him), and nabbed the bottomless coin sack treasure. In celebration, however, Captain Syrup steals his treasures for herself. She may not be a main antagonist, but the entire cause for the adventure for Wario Land: Shake It was influenced by her. She only gave him the globe so she could have him to all the dirty work. Their rivalry is still pretty evident.
