I dunno about DLC adding big features or new characters, but it will be nice to have the possibility for balance/bugfix updates in the future.
In terms of DLC, I expect stages and skins. Adding new characters is problematic in fighting games unless it's a forced update for everyone.
We've gone over this countless times. I'm just saying that Sakurai is trying to deliver the best possible product without having to come back later and add anything.
I imagine any DLC would be free. We'd get regular content like optional pallets and music for stages (straight from older games, ported over), less regular stuff like stages from older Smash games and every now and again a new character.

Hopefully they will add just enough to where people won't want dlc, Sure there's always going to be that "One Special character" that everyone wants that would have been great in game, but hopefully most players will be happy with what they get.
