I hope if they do add the Poltergust it's just E.Gadd as a separate character
We can not see the Mario Tornado die in all forms
But I thought mario tornado was just removed as a smash attack and turned into his down air move, it even does just as much damage iirc
What I find even sillier about killing off the mario tornado is that in that same generation, they released Super Mario Galaxy -- and that was the main method of attacking.
Up until that point it was just a move that was made up, but with SMG, it seems like the perfect time to give that move some cementing in the series as canon. But nope, FLUDD.
yeah wtf
It's like how Wario Land The Shake Dimension came out 5 minutes after Brawl - soon enough apparently for them to lift his victory theme and crawling animation from it - yet they made no effort at all to promote it, rather focusing solely on Wario Ware.

Mario had 2 moves that were multihit in such a manner. Both his down air and down special move did this.
The differences are pretty large though. The Mario Tornado can be used while grounded, and it also gives Mario some upward momentum, which can be used to continue an aircombo or to help aid recovery.
If it's staying I'd like to see the FLUDD in the air be able to be use the hover nozzle like how it has in Mario Sunshine, at least making it a extra recovery option sort of like Peach's hover but needs manual charging.
his down air was directly based on SMW's spin jump and it was a super useful move, then they added Fludd and removed most of the comboing ability from Tornado. Silly move, killed Mario's ability to combo.

I don't remember if it actually hit megaman or not, but in that short gameplay video (with the annoying narriator) his FLUDD move looked like it had more power to it, so hopefully they realized that it needed a buff at least
All I want to see for for Luigi again is his wicked karate chop and his flailing sissy punch dash attack.
Something that has confused me is how every time Luigi attacks, his eyes are always closed

Did he forget to put on his contact lenses?
Luigi's always been a timid guy, makes sense he'd have his eyes shut

Does anyone know if the spirit tracks stage is 3DS exclusive? It looks like a fun stage but all the screenshots and gameplay are on the 3DS version

They did say Wii U and 3DS would have exclusive stages, Wii U ones focusing more on Home Console games and 3DS more on handhelds. So far it's looking like that stage is a 3DS exclusive.

Damn
Wonder if they'll make a 3DS swapnote stage to replace pictochat, it was my favorite stage in brawl but I seriously doubt they'll keep it now
I was hoping to get the Wii U version to play with friends, but if the exclusives end up being good enough I might just have to go with the 3DS version. :(

The way I see it is, Wii-U version: Main version to play, At home with friends chilling, and even online.
3ds version: Away from home, Maybe a few rounds between classes with friends or (Hopefully online) I'm looking forward to playing at conventions.
Honestly unless you have some 3DS/DS franchises that you really really like then aside from the artstyle and portability of the 3DS version, the Wii U will most likely be superior.
Looks like the 3DS stages are relatively simple although that could change in the future.
Oh for sure, no doubt the Wii U version will be superior, but Smash Bros on the go is a bloody good option as well
I might end up buying both
I'm probably going to end up buying both, assuming that the 3ds version is reviewed well, I'm sure the system one will be.
I don't give a fuck I'm buying both! :v:
Right I imagine Masahiro Sakurai will most likely consult Gamefreak regarding the popularity of specific kinds of Pokemon. With that also in mind I'm taking bets on the new possible Pokemon contestants:
Mewtwo (that can also transform into its alternative form)
Victini
Zoroark
Sylveon
Mewtwo and its new form will be part of the middle focus of the final upcoming movie of Pokemon Generation 4. Nintendo is pretty much pouring all of its Pokemon related marketing material into it. Mewtwo was also in Melee before being cut.
Victini is Junichi Masudas favourite Pokemon.
Zoroark is a common staple Pokemon character in the franchise.
Sylveon is a new Pokemon that introduces the new Pokemon type; Fairy. This is probably the least likely contestant though.
No doubt they may keep Jigglypuff since it has always been included since the first Smash Bros.
Lucario staying in is something I'm not so sure about though. Despite his age he's still pretty much a staple Pokemon character.
Even if everyone doesn't get in then at least they'll most likely be Pokeball assists.
i don't know why you would assume that changing a character will make them unbalanced.
they haven't revealed luigi yet, its the YEAR of luigi, and luigi's mansion 2 recently came out. i think its pretty likely they're gonna do something different with luigi
I'll get the Wii U version first
I'm still shaky on whether the controls will work with the 3DS at all
?
If memory serves don't you only need a joystick, A/B/Z and two shoulder buttons or something to play Smash Bros?
The 3DS has 4 buttons on the front, two shoulder buttons and a D-pad/thumb pad.
I think at this point we need that Attack on Titan thing except with the Villager.
Smash Bros. 64 would have worked as a port on the original DS.
3DS has one less button than the Gamecube (ignoring Select), and one less C-stick, which had no individual function (technically, neither did Z).
We'll be fine.

No, the whole anime's premises is about humans fighting the titans/giants so it's not really a spoiler.

I'm used to using R to grab and ZR to shield and rolldodge, and the c stick is so important to shorthopping
well it's not like Luigi has many moves in Luigi's Mansion outside of 'suck', 'blow', and 'unlock door'
I've always thought Luigi's final smash should be him using the Poltergust.
What even is that final smash in Brawl?
