I can't believe people actually like Sonic.

Sonic is a pretty cool guy, he fights badniks and doesn't afraid of anything. Whether you like him or not, he's a massive part of gaming history, an icon of the console wars of the nineties, and hey, my first Sonic game was SA2B, so I'm forever pining for a SA2 style game again. Give him a revised moveset and we're good to go.

Maybe deviant art ruined him for me, but he's still a pretty awful SSBB character.

I would figure that online play would require being up-to-date. Offline play can get away with being unpatched, as all players will be running the same version.

Yes, he was the prime antagonist in Luigi's Mansion and showed up as a boss in Super Mario Sunshine, but he's really not had much since then unless you count spinoffs; and if you want a spinoff character, Waluigi is a lot more notable as a Mario character who's specific to spinoffs. Wario is too, but he's got his own 2 franchises that he's made his own; he's no longer a minor character. While it would be cool, I'd want to see the rest of the roster get fleshed out before they go for him.

If there's another Mario slot, Waluigi SHOULD get it, but I kinda sorta want Fawful to get it. I fucking love Fawful.

The one thing I hope is that ssb4 has the ability for downloadable content on both consoles for downloadable characters and stages. Heck maybe this could be the reason naming it just ssb, they're aiming for it to be the all out version for the ages. Also I want eggman to be a playable character who would be in his iconic mech from the classic trio.

I think we have plenty of Mario representatives, and while I think Waluigi's chaotic nature could add a little more variety, the rest of the Mario characters are here to stay.

While Waluigi might be a good fit for these games, there's virtually no chance that he gets in Smash Bros. He's a minor character who has never been in a mainstream Mario game.
