I think the nuke/ion from the crates is way too common.
I think the issue is that it's the only kill crate, honestly. There was a crate mod back in classic, and it had kill crates in it sure, but not only were they generally not that common, - I think it was a server side setting as to how often each crate type was - but they also just flat out killed you with no fanfare. I mean it's cool and all getting to see the super weapons go off, but it just gets flat out irritating when you see nukes and ions going off across the map that aren't associated with beacons at all.
God it's been a while.
Sadly this game is extremely slow for me, getting sub-30 fps in some parts, and not over 50 in general, entirely regardless of graphics settings. To be fair my CPU is a 7 year old dual core, but I haven't had this issue in any other UE3 game.

One round I picked up a nuke crate 6 times. It was the same round I found out you can team kill people with the nuke crates! Many people weren't happy. :V
I think the nuke/ion from the crates is way too common.
We talked about this in the server too (That's exactly why I told everyone to not pick up the crate at 53 seconds, and yet some dumbass got it anyway. Somehow it didn't kill us though.)
It's ridiculous, on that server I literally had half my team wiped out at once because somebody picked up a crate while we were around the same area.
Oh man, just had some really tense moments on islands as a stealth trooper where I narrowly avoided getting detected by several GDI mammoth and light tanks.

I love being GDI and getting a disguise as a stealth trooper.

i was just in walls flying and GDI had no warfactory or infantry baracks, while nod had no airstrip and man was the competition to keep our lone orca and mammoth tank alive was intense

So when you said you were leaving for a server where people work together... This is where you've gone?
All dem sounds ripped from BF2,hehe.
NOD artillery firing sound,NOD buggy start-up sound, possible apache sounds.
I like it.
Game time
The FP Server now shows on the official server list.

Yes, and the very low preset turns them all off.
And I get the same awful framerate regardless of whether I have it on very low or ultra.
Edit: Okay, very low actually helps (and looks hideous, I might as well be playing the original Renegade). Between the higher ones I'm not getting any performance difference.
Gee I wonder why that nod engie is reparing thin air.
Gunna join you guys.

I was one of the gunners too, that shit was hilarious.
Hahahaha, man people whining about the Tiberium Auto Rifle being OP are hilarious. It's even been nerfed since classic, the AoE on it is much smaller. I even had one guy complain because I killed him as an Engineer when he was Sakura, because the pistol in classic was definitely not one of most dangerous weapons in the entire game in skilled hands - and it didn't take long for long-time Engineer players to get good with it.
It's interesting how much better silenced pistol is compared to heavy pistol.
I don't care much for carbine or machine pistol, but silenced pistol is scary.
I think Hotwire/Technician should cost 1000credits, since they can do a lot.

They're really only able to do anything because there's almost no communication or teamwork most of the time. A single tech sneaking into a building can do a ton of damage sure, but that's kind of what they're designed to do when on offense. They're also so hilariously easy to nullify when treated as a proper threat that it used to balance out. The only reason they're so nasty in general combat right now is because of the secondary weapons glitch, where shit like the Tib weapons stay after buying once. The pistol is complete shit compared to what it used to be, if that glitch got fixed their operating costs would almost double on offense or else they'd be stuck to really ineffective sidearms.
Although honestly, I hope when they fix the secondary weapons glitch they bring back weapon drops. I miss snagging some of the nastier weapons as a tech or SBH.
Wait, pistol used to be even more powerful?
You can kill a guy with a single clip... Of 12 bullets. That's a ton of damage.
Headshots used to do something like 60 points of damage, maybe more. On a basic unit like a soldier, that's 4 shots. It wasn't hard to get headshots with it.

All in all, it feels like a lot of weapons have been nerfed compared to classic. Admittedly some weapons probably needed it, but some definitely didn't. The flamer feels nerfed against vehicles, which it was semi-effective against in classic to give Nod a chance if they lost the Hand. Coupled with their flame retardant suit that made them immune to the burn from tank splash, I used to surprise the fuck out of tank drivers all the time.
Fairly certain the hit boxes in general are much smaller too, but that could just be me bitching.
Yeah, flamer feels a bit weak in general. Not sure how good it used to be against infantry, but it's not nearly as good as you'd expect it to be.
It occupies the same slot as GDI grenade launcher, but overall it is much weaker against infantry and vehicles alike. One of the foremost reasons I prefer GDI at this point.
On the other hand, the chem trooper is amazing.
It's like a better version of the flamer, and it demolishes vehicles and infantry really quickly - and even does decent damage to buildings (only useful in a group though).
Also here's a close call i had on islands

I agree about the flamer though - and its not as versatile over the GDI gl overall too. It feels if Nod looses their barracks they stand much less of a chance vs if GDI does.
Well, GDI equivalent of chem trooper is Gunner. Enough said.
Yeah, flamer feels a bit weak in general. Not sure how good it used to be against infantry, but it's not nearly as good as you'd expect it to be.
Not spectacular. I think its most useful attribute was that it was hard as fuck to see through the flames to actually fight the trooper, but it was far easier to get kills with it in classic than it is now.
Also does anyone know if the Nod soldier's autorifle has shorter range than GDI's like in classic? I haven't actually had the mind to test it.

Gunners good for buildings but for a 1 vs 1 or a vehicle fight, i think i prefer chem trooper because of the constant ROF

Or if you're on Field, rule the tunnels with a gang of chem troopers.
I wish people didn't pick walls_flying so often.
