Or if you're on Field, rule the tunnels with a gang of chem troopers.
Or 1 Tib rifle. I was the only person actively defending our base for like ten minutes, Gunners and Sydneys kept coming in and trying to snipe the Air Field. A single tech with a Tib rifle was holding them off and half the time getting kills on them. It was amusing.
i laughed at the pistol. i thought it was a p22 knockoff but it says p22 right on the side
no wonder why the guns do no damage; eveyone is shooting plinkers at one another. great game though, been having a blast with it
Wait, pistol used to be even more powerful?
You can kill a guy with a single clip... Of 12 bullets. That's a ton of damage.
Just imagine, in real life you could kill a person with a single pistol shot!
How OP is that?!

You nuked your own base :v:
Can nukes from crates actualy team kill?
Apparently the team works getting better. But it still sucks when GDI is being completely retarded and placing mines at building entrances instead of the one entrance to the other base. Leaving Nod permission to walk in as many SBH as they want with which to plant nuke beacons.
I just send the devs a PM regarding the visceroids ... I really would love to see them in game, creating yet another threat on the field.
It might curb the abuse of the secondary glitch if all Tib kills had like a 25% chance to spawn a visceroid.
I mean it wouldn't stop me one bit, but still.

Judging from the amount of times I was dueling someone and they collected a crate, killing us both, nukes/ion cannons from crates kill everything in radius, GDI and Nod alike.
The bots are pretty damn good on skirmish mode, and I've only got them on adept. Pretty awesome.
Can anyone tell me if the remade maps still allow the old usuals like engineer rushes in the power plant, or angling MLRS shots so the rockets angle around walls, if Havoc / Sakura's sniper can still one shot basic infantry, if stealth is still distance based, and is it possible to still have a duo of engineers heal each others while crossing tiberium fields?
Anything else I'll just pick up once I install it, but I'm curious about these I mentioned.

Yes, pretty sure, yes, yes, pretty sure but honestly good fucking luck keeping that beam steady.
I remember the ol' tactic of getting an APC, loading it up with a few engineers and using it to boomtank right up to the defense tower / power plant, then remote bombing it to hell.
Also, nod4lyfe
i love this game so much
I just like it.
Yes, pretty sure, yes, yes, pretty sure but honestly good fucking luck keeping that beam steady.
Does it work differently than the old one? I remember it was easy as long as both engineers simply strafed while staring at one another.

I don't know, it's hard to describe. The only thing I can think is the hit boxes have been touched up compared to classic. It could just also be the complete lack of teamwork currently present.
I see, either ways, thanks.
Apparently renegade missed its release date and westwood made this as a joke

after which they still missed their new release date
Hahahaha, man people whining about the Tiberium Auto Rifle being OP are hilarious. It's even been nerfed since classic, the AoE on it is much smaller. I even had one guy complain because I killed him as an Engineer when he was Sakura, because the pistol in classic was definitely not one of most dangerous weapons in the entire game in skilled hands - and it didn't take long for long-time Engineer players to get good with it.
classic pistol was OP since it had infinate ammo also had a large clip, right now the heavy pistol is like the best weapon for engineers or anyone without heavy weapons in general since 1-2 people with heavy pistols can cripple a light vehicle or aircraft very quick

is anyone else a little annoyed by the unusual map constraints though? i mean the rivers being essentially uncrossable by anything is kinda dumb but not being able to go up a hill by employing invisible barriers instead of physical obsticles is kinda annoying, also while the remade maps are great, it just seems like they could have made large maps with the technology of today and vehicle combat would be much more important instead of like valley where nod usually takes the valley and fills it with moble artillery while GDI just camps with a mammoth tank till someone nukes the refineries

it just feels like they went out of their way to copy renegade's quirks as well as its essence, some gameplay elements being kept just don't make sense in the game anymore

We covered this pages ago. The entire intent was to bring Renegade to a new and better engine. Mods and custom maps will come, just enjoy the (mostly) classic game for now.
It is uniquely suited to a huge map gamemode though. A Natural Selection / Nuclear Dawn style mode with large maps where the commander can buy tiberium harvesters, flame towers and all the C&C staples would be amazing.
It'd all be in the future though, and need mods if the engine even permits it.

It is, and I really hope to see mods like that in the future; plus the return of a lot of old custom maps from classic that are bigger and better for 64 player servers.
Well of course, it's UE3. The UE engines have always been good about modability.
Is anyone else noticing that the server browser will throw you onto a random server if you attempt to join one?
Say I join the Facepunch server, it'll throw me on some totally random server.

Ingame browser is broken.
Is there an alternative?
Is there an alternative?
The launcher.
I sure wish people would learn how to apc rush.
Been sitting there on mesa spamming mammoths from the cave at nod for 15 minutes without them having an airstrip and hon.
Decided to solo apc rush at the last minute, ioned the powerplant, walked in started shooting all the engineers, nobody even tried to fight back, they were all repairing.
Should have done it earlier but it's impossible as everyone always has 7 mammoths on the field and another one gets bought as soon as the previous dies.
Lost because of time, they get a shitton of points for repairing.
Give it time, APC rushes are a basic tactic that requires the slightest bit of teamwork. Generally unless there's a slew of Renegade veterans on a server, everyone's treating it like Call of Duty or Battlefield or something and just arbitrarily rushing at the enemy base by themselves.
The launcher.
I didn't know the game had a launcher lol, I had the exe added to steam and was launching directly.
