I really wish they didn't include mcfarland, the rocket units are a good change from the old rocket launcher, and this makes Gunner a bit more unique, but they should've just given him the tiberium rifle (maybe ever so slightly more powerful than the one granted through silos), not that broken flak cannon, similarly, the flamethrower / tiberium sprayer really need to have larger cone, not as crazy blinding as in vanilla renegade, but right now they're little more than slow, blinding bullets, which is just not working right. To be honest, the only thing that bothers me other than the bugs are the models, I was so saddened / disappointed to see how the flamer, chemic trooper, shotgunner and many other units are simply recolered trooper, and even the trooper itself on the node side doesn't have the "right" skin. The different suits were awesome, I really hope they're gonna add them later.
I'm guessing they are considering for the most part how much variety GDI has in the way of models.

Yep, back before release there was BF3-like UI. They probably scrapped it in favor of old-school (tiny and messy) Renegade HUD.
The Nod models just aren't done yet, hopefully. Half of them are just slight recolors. Also my favorite thing is when you stand still and suicide, your ragdoll just falls down like all your bones vanished.

I'd love to see alternate, larger, variations of the building interiors, something that gives them more than just a single room interior, maybe not to the extreme of Renegade's singleplayer buildings (cause fuck the Hand of Nod's Layout), but using more of the space and possibly levels underground. It could possibly make use of the Hand of Nod's helipad, the power plant's upper level, that mini-upstairs in the airstrip tower, the empty space inside the weapons factory for an upstairs level. The Refinery, GDI Barracks and the base defences would probably have to use an underground level or two because they're quite limited in size, but it wouldn't be impossible to make their interiors bigger. Buggies are more useful than mobile artillery users.[/QUOTE] An artillery vehicle or two is good to have behind the tanks to add some more firepower, the bigger blast of the shot is good for killing all the infantry whilst the Light/Flame Tanks stay forward and tank the defences and they can both do some good damage to vehicles and buildings but it's just pathetic when you watch like 6 artillery cannons try and rush a base without help.
Light tanks are great, cheap, fast enough to dodge stuff, okish HP and tiny profile if you reverse out from corners to peek.
i was amazed by how much damage the buggys actually do to tanks. if you have a lot of them, or the tank isn't paying attention, or they suck, you could pepper it down

Pretty much the only good thing about Nod is going SBH and placing nuke beacons.

Artillery used to be fucking nasty, on par with MRLS. Light tanks used to be something other than giant bullet sponges, a good driver could go toe to toe with a medium. Flame tanks used to be absolutely brutal in close range, especially against buildings. Stealth tanks were weaker health wise, but had higher damage and decent splash. And practically nobody buys buggies/humvees anymore, especially with the vehicle cap.
I want to say NOD seems underpowered but that's only because GDI seems to have tougher and harder hitting vehicles for some reason. When I'm GDI I feel like I'm in a tank. When I'm NOD I feel like I'm in a glass box. This is all based off poor gameplay that I've been experiencing from join high lat servers though. I can't see the ping I have so I'm blindly entering servers hoping I get one that doesn't lag. The game itself runs perfectly smooth on Ultra High settings though.

Unless I'm playing as a chemical trooper. I cleared like two squads of GDI characters in two magazines during one match.
Nod is brutal if you know what you're doing. A squad of SBH with beacons can be GDI's reckoning and the Stealth Tank can be used for harvester harassment and sneak attacks. However it does feel Nod has been significantly nerfed in Renegade X, but the job can still be done.

The game itself runs perfectly smooth on Ultra High settings though.[/QUOTE] Nod was designed to be physically weaker. GDI is all about pure force; bigger tanks, bigger guns, more boom everywhere. That being said, it really feels like they might have their balance off. I never felt like a giant worthless target in a flame tank back in classic, and the light tanks used to be able to contend with GDI's mediums if they had cover or a good driver. Also artillery used to be a match for the MRLS, just without the - very useful - ability to fire around corners.
