WATCH WHERE YOU'RE POINTING THAT!

I could come up with ideas for Renegade if they had planned to expand upon it at all. Like hacking the MCT. Tiberium weapons having the affect of debuffing or blocking repairs on enemy vehicles. Things to move it from being so crude and basic. I'm over having an irrational hatred of the game thanks to a good night of sleep, but it still irks me that things are still as they were 10 years ago.

That was the point of the mod though, to bring Renegade to a newer and better engine. Honestly, I do hope with modding tools or in the future they offer different game modes that have expanded feature sets. I really really love the classic game and I'll always come back to it, but there's a lot of room for stuff like a commander, building construction, etc.. They'd be fun to have as alternatives.
funnily enough I'm pretty sure NOD used suicide bomber tactics so I think this is canon
There isn't an underhanded tactic that NOD didn't use. I bet they even use aimbots in CS.

[editline]27th February 2014[/editline] Also no, the entire time you've been arguing you've been saying they should've changed stuff period. There's been some minor shit added, but the point was to have the original game.
I miss the old Personal Ion Cannon charging animations. They were so much better than the new ones
It's not Renegade without some dipshit in a mammoth tank spamming I NEED REPAIRS but refusing to move out of the open for engineers to get to him without dying.
I miss the Tiberium Mutants.
I think they're going to re-add them.
Is the renegade x website down for anyone else? I was looking to download the game but cant load the website

It was such a unique gun that it required two bloody handles to hold, was massive in general, and had the power ( in singleplayer ) to blow up tanks with one shot. You need a big gun to do that. Renegade X gave you an oversized rifle which could be mistaken for a grenade launcher. I said to the guy that the PIC should've looked like the beta Heavy Rifle from Deus Ex except with a single, massive barrel with shitloads of wires and fans coming from it. Is it just me or do servers need some serious optimization? I was playing last night and every shot connected but did no damage.
I'm getting a D3D9 error when I launch the game and it says something about how the desktop "might be locked." WTF does that mean? I haven't been able to find any solutions to the problem - it's been reported a couple times online, and most of the time people seem to have NVIDIA laptop graphics cards(like me). The only solution suggested was on the official website, and it was to install DirectX. I tried but apparently I already have one that is either the same or later as Direct X 9.0c. Any suggestions? edit: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2759841 I found this which might help. Except the files are called "SystemSettings.ini" instead of "DefaultEngine" for the resolution. I'll try it when I get home.
I'm a very convincing mime, since people still die when this happens. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5636656/download.jpg[/t]
Just played with a dev guy - he said City won't happen and confirmed someone in this thread has said, it was difficult for artists. Well there is still chance. But they will increase chat vanish time in the next patch so yay? Also a lot of people storming him with requests to tweak the game, do something with airstrikes and such, so something is likely to happen in that regard as well.
I hope someone recreates city soon then.
Honestly I just want mod tools. I'm sure they're planning them, but mod tools would solve a lot of the problems people have with the game. Most of the stuff like airstrikes can be turned off serverside, and in fact one of Jelly's admins was considering turning it off for AoW at least. They were also considering upping the vehicle limit, something I'm sure that will happen when more and larger maps get rolled out. As it is, most of the maps are too small for the really big battalions and rushes that used to be in classic Renegade.
Veh limit was 10 on the Jelly server btw.
That's definitely new, it was the stock 7 last I played.
I love the fact the BOING sound is in when you kill someone.. when I first heard that again it reminded me of when I used to snipe in the old renegade racking up kills, so awesome.
im no expert on map making but how is city hard to make i mean just make a carbon copy of it from the original renegade?? is it engine limitations or what
Engine limitations, quite possibly. I mean, look at the stuff they have done.
Engine limitations, quite possibly. I mean, look at the stuff they have done.
From what I know of the unreal engine, I seriously doubt it's engine limitations, I couldn't see why it would be.

They've released an editor http://renegade-x.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2720
From what I know of the unreal engine, I seriously doubt it's engine limitations, I couldn't see why it would be.
One of the developers (Jam) has stated that "all the classic maps are being remade." http://renegade-x.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2811 Also someone on the forums seems to have some knowledge about why the City map wasn't included. sauce: http://renegade-x.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=72212
It's not that it's hard to "port" simply because they aren't porting anything, they are making it from scratch. The issue is that it is sort of "bad luck." They've had a bunch of different artists attempt work on that map... and none of them ever finished it. It's kind of funny, in a sad sorta way lol.
Looks like the player limit was cut to 40 on most servers.
Aw, why.
