Ok, so with the fixed third link, that was posted AFTER the model was already UVd and Texturing had already begun, as you can see from [url=http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1259156&p=40240069&viewfull=1#post40240069]2 pages before[/url].
Plus, if I remember right, there was a post or two about adding the EOTech sight, and that got a lot of [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/tick.png[/img]s (It had more than 17 at least, so I'd say that's not going against popular opinion).

Now, this has carried on for long enough, what's done is done, if we remake things over and over the mod is going to get stuck in an infinite loop of not finishing anything, unless as I said previously:

I always found the valve MP7 rail to be strange, why didn't they use normal rail?
I mean, I doesn't look like you can put a sight on it without it falling...
(Then, some gun nut will come and say that I'm wrong and it the (insert brand) rails and blah blah :v:)

I know the easiest way would be have one as a separate download. It'd be easy, since it'd be the same process as it would be to install any other custom model.

Maybe pack the model in a folder in the models/weapons directory under "alt smg1 sight" or something like that? Also, I gotta say, now that it has the slightly larger sight it looks like I think we all hope it'll look in HL3.
The most I can think of is to go for an initial version with the MP7 with the EoTech, and then a separate 'add-on' download that lets you replace it with the alternate version? It'd be small enough by itself, I reckon, but there's probably easier ways that others could suggest. v:v:v
If this thing has an installer, instead of just downloading and dropping into the sourcemods folder, you could make it so you could choose it then.
Or if you wanted to do it ingame, make a bodygroup for it, and then add some option for it in the options menu.

IMO, the new version with the original sight should be the default.
Hey guys, I'm replaying HL2 and took at look at d2_coast_08. I can definitely see overlapping problems with the bridge!
Hell, even d2_coast_09 in the first dead cabin has overlapping with the breakable wooden floor

When it comes to things being optional, why not package both and just list in the instructions how to use one over the other? Alternatively you could go the Black Mesa route with the console command idea (before they removed that in favor of pure MP5).

Or you could have a seperate download link next to the normal one marked 'extras' that includes instructions on how to delete extra weapons / npc's / use alternative models.
