replace the lightbulb with the suit battery and your set
I´m liking that parallax like effect on the textures and the hud is also looking nice. But just to know, could there be an option to make the hud ammo in a clip counter not show up? just optional
I wonder if Gordon's flashlight uses neon lights. Because it burns power way to fast for a standard bulb
I wonder if Gordon's flashlight uses neon lights. Because it burns power way to fast for a standard bulb
I wonder if Gordon's flashlight requires him to jump up and down to recharge the battery.
I wonder if Gordon's flashlight requires him to jump up and down to recharge the battery.
Something tells me that'd drain the power faster.
Can anyone give me pic for Hl2 RPG because Some things are not clear.
Can anyone give me pic for Hl2 RPG because Some things are not clear.
Edit: Ah, I forgot how inconsistent the models were. [t]http://75ive.com/images/demo_properly_sized_and_cropped_blueprints.png[/t] Why are you rating me winner?.. :v:
also keep in mind that the first person RPG model is very different from the world model

Which begs the question: Should the improved model be accurate to HL2 or accurate to IRL?
Which begs the question: Should the improved model be accurate to HL2 or accurate to IRL?
A bit of both wouldn't be wrong. It's always been a marvel to me how Valve, in every single case aside from the pistol, has the view and world models for their weapons completely different. I wonder whether it was a time issue on their part or something else entirely.

I wouldn't say they made the world models like that to specifically remove detail, they could have easily replicated the look of the view model whilst keeping the polycount down. Just look at the RPG for example: Hell, it's even a different colour. How did they screw that up?
My guess is that some of it was holdovers from the beta. I think the Combine still hold and reload AR2s like they're OICWs (or was it the rebels?) because they didn't change the animations to accommodate for the different weapon model. Even Team Fortress 2 has issues like that, like some of the hud images being based off of beta artwork or odd quirks like viewmodel gloves being different colors from the player models or even mismatched gloves entirely in the case of the Sniper. Valve's pretty rampant with quirks like that.
Which begs the question: Should the improved model be accurate to HL2 or accurate to IRL?
The game. The weapons in the game don't really behave like most real-world weapons. If you made the HL2 RPG look exactly like an AT-4, then the laser guide & reloading would seem out of place or wrong to anyone familiar with it. If you make it look like a whole 'new' model of RPG then it creates fewer breaks from reality & gives the modelers/animators/sound-whatever's more artistic freedom.
snip
The reason why tf2 had all these issues including animation issues Is because valve decided to not give a single fuck after they did the tf2 trailers. A good example of proof is how the pipe bomb launcher in the trailer actually reloaded correctly but in tf2 now they don't.

I remember that Romka made a worldmodel fix to resemble the viewmodel: http://hl2.gamebanana.com/skins/40302 [thumb]http://files.gamebanana.com/img/ss/srends/31665.jpg[/thumb] But I'm pretty sure you can do it better.

[editline]26th August 2013[/editline] The RPG model is different from the world model :(
That's right, son. Personally I would go off the look of the hud icon, and probably would for most of the weapons in the game. It's very low detail of course but I think you should be able to extrapolate from it using most of the details from the view model, and come up with something really nice that looks like a comfortable middle between the world and view model.
That looks un-detailed as fuck.
That's because it's just a reskin of the original world model to go with the view one. Didn't put any more detail meshwise in it.
The RPG model 0% In next update add some solder in model, and fix some errors.
The GL had 6 shots for months when the game first came out, it was later nerfed
I know; and here we are, a mere several years later and it doesn't reflect what it should. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make; regardless of when it used to be correct, it hasn't been that way for years and Valve never changed it; similar to the "quirks" that was being discussed earlier.
That's right, son. Personally I would go off the look of the hud icon, and probably would for most of the weapons in the game. It was called v_ml.mdl if I remember correctly. the lower one It is very similiar to a FIM-92 Stinger AA missile launcher. The bottom base, the front, the way the whole shaft is done, etc... Back when I used to work a lot on my own mod where I was bringing back a few cut things back into HL2 (no, not MI), I recreated this model because I like the look of the Stinger and since you can steer missiles in HL2, the stinger is more appropriate than an AT4. (that's just my personal opinion) However Stingers cannot be reloaded, that's why in games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Snake throws away the entire device and pulls out another one up his sleeve. I couldn't quite live with the fact throwing an entire missile launcher away and since HL2 is just a game... I made my version reloadable. So bscly Freeman pushes an entire missile from the back into the launcher: world model in action on NPC's: [t]http://i.imgur.com/YqExHLC.jpg[/t]
Hey Romka, would that skin you have on the HEV arms be one of your personal concoctions there? That's like the second time I've seen that skin anywhere. Oh also....Hello everyone on the HL2 Enhancement Mod thread!
Wait. Romka is helping HL2EM? That's good
