I can't imagine the stinger reloading animation being anything other than long & awkward. Than again it's still better than HL2's reloading where it just dips off the screen Golden-Eye-style after it fires but doesn't even actually need to be reloaded.
How would quick-healing work in Half-Life 2? Like those little health vials, instead of them being a standard pickup, what if the player could carry about 3-5 health vials, then press a mappable button to apply one to him/herself for a quick 10 health boost(Health kits would stay just as they are right now)? Or is the idea of quick-healing not acceptable in a game like this?

I think something like how the SMAW reloads would be pretty fitting. The only example I have is BF3 though, and they have the reload animation excruciatingly slow probably for balance reasons. It can be condensed into probably 3ish seconds.
I feel like Valve didn't do the reload animation properly is because the viewmodel hands would probably have had major clipping or something

I liked HL1's reload animation. If there's one thing I dislike when it comes to this kind of stuff, it's when reloads are done off screen in place of an animation.
HL1's reload animation would be fine for HL2:E's RPG, but I was commenting about Romka's Stinger missile launcher, which would look ridiculous using HL1's reload animation.

Just a small idea I got while playing TF2. Now if you look at 2fort from the TFC... [IMG]http://ts4.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4825233692950919&pid=1.7&w=262&h=172&c=7&rs=1[/IMG] ...you'll notice that there are walls surrounding the area. But in the TF2 version... [IMG]http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4730662809045118&pid=1.7&w=266&h=172&c=7&rs=1[/IMG] That while there are still barriers that act the exact same way, therefore not changing the gameplay, you can see a full world ahead of it, making it look entirely different. Perhaps we could integrate this kind of thing when updating the maps? Wouldn't change the game, but it would make the world seem much more real

Why? I had enough of a problem with them in HL2 as it is.

Like, in 2fort the fences were quite high, you cant even jump that high without rocket jumps or stickies (which arent even in hl2), but it still lets you see more of the world.
