Is there a reason why the "hole" isn't in the middle? That shit's driving me crazy.
It's based off this old concept, which is hardly far-fetched since the Combine already have tunnels deep under the City.
Why the hell would the combine go through the trouble of building a giant bridge like that? I always figured the only reason they used trains is because the tracks were already there. It's not even made of that black combine metal.

It's in the middle of the tube, not in the middle of the front piece.

Floating geometry? It looks like this from this perspective.
Is there a reason why the "hole" isn't in the middle? That shit's driving me crazy.
Going on you don't see the front part in the view model he can just paint the hole black and no one* would notice the difference.
[sp]Ok probably someone in this thread would go insane if they noticed*[/sp]
It's in the middle of the tube, not in the middle of the front piece.
It's not like that. It's a floating geometry and it looks like this from this perspective.

Why do you say that?
Why do you say that?
most modellers use floating geometry to make baking normals insanely easier. heres an example.
1. what it looks like from the side on a highpoly model
does anyone else find it odd how vastly different the Coast is from the Outlands? They are in the same geographical region, yet they are greatly far apart aesthetically. yes, they were probably conceptualized apart, but still, it makes no sense to me.
Most likely the outlands were going to be Wasteland, but were changed because marching over a dead planet doesn't really give the feeling of victory that Valve wanted.

If that was the case, why would they go through the trouble of digging railroads deep beneath city surface? :v:
Besides, the Combine need to construct railway lines to places that don't have them, like the Citadel, and Nova Prospekt. They adapted Human Technology because they could. Gunships are better than Helicopters, but that didn't stop them from making their own Chopper Fleet.

If I'm right, the HL2 rocket launcher is based on the AT4 single-use anti tank recoilless rifle which doesn't have an opening at the front until after it's fired.

Hey guys! Only 32 more posts (after this one) and we're on page 100! (well, 32 more posts and this page is finished, rather)

Considering the chat thread in H&S is currently at 532, that's not really an achievement :v:
can any one tell me some ref for this Thing

It looks like that's the laser designator. So maybe you should have something like this?

Albeit longer and with a grip on the end.
That's my opinion, at least.

It's based off of the Russian M136 AT4 Disposable Rocketlauncher. Unless that's the same one you posted about...
Anyways, here's some pictures if they'd help as a slight reference for modeling.

Have a look at Stinger Missile Launcher stuff.

First off, it's not Russian, it's Swedish. Secondly, the M136 designation is the US designation.
And lastly, yes it is the exact same thing I posted about.

What is it with me and typos. Corrected.
The HL2 Rocket Launcher is based on a backwards AT4 I believe.
If that was the case, why would they go through the trouble of digging railroads deep beneath city surface? :v:
Considering the Episode One chapter Lowlife consisted of very old looking subway stations with almost no combine tech & must have been pre-existing, I'd say they didn't go through that trouble at all.
Besides, the Combine need to construct railway lines to places that don't have them, like the Citadel, and Nova Prospekt.
Nova Prospekt was a pre-existing prison that they took over & more than likely already had a train track connected to it. The Citadel probably wasn't much different.
They adapted Human Technology because they could. Gunships are better than Helicopters, but that didn't stop them from making their own Chopper Fleet.
They adapted Human Technology for convenience. Gunships may better than Helicopters, but Gunships can't drop mines or deploy soldiers, so they made the Choppers. The difference is that Helicopters & other flying things don't rely on any tracks. If the subway system wasn't already there, creating one would have been a total waste of energy compared to simply using the pre-existing cars & roads.
My point was that it doesn't look like something humans would realistically make & it clearly isn't meant to be combine-made. Bringing back the giant train track bridge would just be bringing back leak material just for the sake of it, which is dumb.
The HL2 Rocket Launcher is based on a backwards AT4 I believe.
An AT4, a deagle and a strela welded together :v:

The Citadel was teleported in and just dumped in the middle of C17 (which is why it's in such a huge crater too), so they'd have to do some renovating at the base since you can't teleport a giant structure with attached train tracks and just expect it to fit. While they might have had a base with Nova Prospect, this wasn't the case for the Citadel.
The HL2 Rocket Launcher is based on a backwards AT4 I believe.
Only the world model (aka what NPCs use), the view model fires from the right end.
That's absolutely correct. I could see part of the citadel being modified by the stalkers at some point to adapt to the existing subway, but the way Mr. Someguy phrases it's like he's saying the combine made it entirely themselves & that they'd make this using that same logic.
There's no subway in Lowlife, only underground road tunnels and parking lots. The track we see at the beginning tears across one of the road tunnels, it can't be preexisting.

No it doesn't

If you look at the viewmodel (pictured in your post), the end you fire from is the flatter, octangular front end of the AT4, just bigger. If it were the back end, it would look more like a cone.
