Call me late but I just noticed (well I noticed awhile ago, but it slipped my mind), but since you moved the trigger and handle up on the SMG, doesn't that mean you'll need to re-animate the Rebels, Metrocops, and Combine Soldiers to match it? Or did you plan on doing that anyway?

I didn't know the player even had animations. Isn't your model just an grey textured low-poly outline of Gordon?

In this case we're making a torso without a head that uses a full range of animations. Think TF2's current cl_first_person_uses_world_model.

You say you are going fix the waist so we can finally get the HD model of the HEV suit I was waiting for so long. At the same time though the current proportions make the suit a bit more tougher and protective which doesn't look too bad.

So, i finally discovered why Gordon Freeman never needed the HEV Helmet to have an HUD. Before turning into a Black Mesa employee, he was a google employee, he was betatesting Google Glass since 1997, using an program called AIDS MKIV (Automatic.Identity.Defense.System) Also known as the HIV Suit Heads-up display system. So, you dont need to model a helmet Gordon, just his glasses. Same for the flashlight, it is attached on the glasses.
I would definitely not bring in the helmet / no helmet discussion here. We have enough pointless stuff to argue about :v:

(Say the player.mdl in HL2 has ACT_DIESIMPLE, that makes player.mdl play the ACT_DIESIMPLE activity upon death)

It's the ACTs that define whether you can use it properly as an NPC or player though.

I just want to say that you guys are doing a real good job! This mod is really coming on nicely, and while I don't agree with some of your artistic changes, I can't wait to play it. This is the HD remake that Half-Life 2 deserves.

Well, this sucks... My main computer as been hit by a virus, and it may take several days to get rid of it! In the meantime, if anyone needs to contact me, PM me through FP, as I can use my laptop to access that (I don't run Steam on it, as it's quite a slow laptop already).

Even if you dont remove the virus, backup the shit first. We cant loose anything, use Dropbox or Skydrive.

The barrel is elongated to match the proportions of the first person model. I guess they/ he went with it because they/he preferred that look over the third person look, and a few others did too.

Though we don't wanna go overboard and give people ten thousands of options to choose from in the addons sections. But we'll see what we can do. :)
