Primitive in what way? The M1 Bazooka was reloaded from the back, making that more primitive than reloading from the front like the RPG-7.
i dunno. anyways, for a launcher like this it makes more sense to load the rocket from the back imo.

Now, you can start making the lowpoly.

It looks perfect now, except for one last little thing that I missed mentioning before that someone else pointed out to me.
Look at the indentation, and the two bands that go on either side, now look at it on the original model:
[t]http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/d/d7/RPG.jpg/600px-RPG.jpg[/t]
The original model has those two 'bands' going OVER the indentation, yours has them on either side. The indentation might need to be just a little longer too, but I'm not sure. If changing the placement of those bands is relitively easy go for it, but if it isn't I'd say just leave it.
words
You surely love giving sargent99 a hard time, don't you.
The model looks JUST fine, I don't think such nitpicks deserve attention.
I think the RPG is done. With my comment I thought I was being a bit picky because you don't see the handle that much but I'm happy it's fixed. Now the model looks much better than the original and changing few small parts seems to me like wasting time.
How many weapons are done anyway?

I meant to do that, cause I was going for a little change. It's easy to edit it, though, but I'm not sure why do you think it makes a difference.

I just feel that the front end should look as close to the original as possible, with a few exceptions of course. I'm not trying to give you a hard time on it- sorry if I am btw -I'm just really kinda picky when it comes to making a remake as close to it's original as possible, as I don't want this mod to be a "imaginitive redesing" but rather an "enhanced HL2, with most of the designs kept almost exactly the same". In other words I'm just worried that if we deviate too much we'll start letting more deviations past and end up turning this mod into another Cinematic Mod.
Having a little band on the RPG a few centimetres further apart is hardly too much deviation.
The model is excellent Sargent99, you did a great job.
I wanna see some Colt Pythons right now. Have you made any progress on the Colt Python specifically?
Also, I ate too much chocolate, now I am hyperactive. Beware.

It's fucking ridiculous that Corgi has to go to these lengths to justify his entirely legitimate criticism. The model is of a real weapon. The model, while looking great (seriously, good job man), is not accurate to the real model, therefore it should be adjusted accordingly. That is not a ridiculous request. That is not a waste of time.

Sorry for seeming rude, but this whole "it's good enough, just hurry up and release" is is so frustrating.

Rated Agree by mistake, would have disagreed.
But... this IS a waste of time. Do you honestly care if the distance between rings has deviated by a few inches? I don't, and most people won't even notice.
But I'm not saying that they should think like that about every single aspect in the game. Sometimes it does make a difference, but you really shouldn't push too hard.
Why are we even arguing about this? Let's talk some more about something stupid that has been discussed a thousand times again.

how is it a waste of time? fixing it isn't very time consuming or difficult. the more it looks like the original model, the better.

I've been busy with college (and GTAV) recently, but I did read all the comments on my last post and have written notes! I'll post something as soon as I make progress.
I was not able to work on the airboat yesterday due to me doing accounting homework and getting a big fat 0 on it :suicide: which caused temporary depression.
Why am I taking it? I needed X amount of class time to get access to money stored up for post secondary. Also because highschool accounting is repeating itself and I can't get both sides to balence out even though I'm doing double entry.
Anyways I need to go back and fix the airboat propeller. Would replicating the left 4 dead 2 method of having a chopper blade on the military chopper look like it's going faster then it really is be suitable or should I just make a plane which will be a bodygroup that can be toggled.

Hey, take your time. Real life always comes first. If this project interferes with your performance in class or any sort of education, we're not going to rush you.

What if the rockets were loaded through the indentation. Like some kind of bastardised shotgun.
What if the rockets were loaded through the indentation. Like some kind of bastardised shotgun.
Come to think of it, the indentation does have a some sort of cut-in in the middle, so it could be possible...
But no, imagine how stupid it would look. An old school insert in back would do.
And I said "insert in back" because Gordon tilts the gun down when he reloads, so it seems logical to think that he would simply drop in the RPG's in the tube.
Is it me or does the stock half life 2 rocket viewmodel have a slight bend when it gets close to the right hand side edge.
Edit:
Hey, take your time. Real life always comes first. If this project interferes with your performance in class or any sort of education, we're not going to rush you.
Thanks, the course is not needed for what I want to get into luckily.

The bad thing is that the way you told it made complete sense.
dat rpg, is perfect :D
The rocket needs a new texture and more polygons anyway. Not only for the models you launch and fire (yes, there are two differents models for that), but also the model that you pick from the ground.
Speaking of new models, are ammo pickups still going to be 3 times larger than the weapon they're used in? :v:
Now, you can start making the lowpoly.
Lowpoly is for regular HL2, this is for enhancement, you won't be able to see a single polygon when you turn on wireframe, total sea of blue.

highpoly-lowpoly is still instrumental for pretty much all game engines; mainly for dealing with normals, and that there's often no reason to pack THAT many polys.

It was a joke...
So I reskinned the new Annabelle model we have now that I have more experience with texturing weapons.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/WZ2HKH6.png[/t] -model viewer is a piece of crap for showing off shaders :/

Think you need a better transition between the wood and the brass(?) on the grip and stock. Also a decent phongmask.

it's fine. it's already ten times better than the original quality wise, and we only see it for half a second. shouldn't waste time on things that you can only see up close if you cheat to get to it.

I beg to differ, I think we were going to add weapons like the annabelle and alyx gun into the deathmatch.
