it's annoying watching people that have no involvement with the mod complain that stuff is taking too long and needs to be rushed. enhancing things takes time.
My only issue with this is the grip. The original grip wasn't as tall, it also had a button and not a carved rectangle. Gordon's hands easily clip with the canister wich is really huge, it was slightly taller and thinner instead of being fatter. Overall there's some small scaling issues, also could you please say what you changed in your next edits? I can never tell at a first glance what you changed and it's really confusing. Also I don't remember the laser "container" being that big but I'm not too sure about it, I remember it being less obstructive.
this is a spergy post
this is a spergy post
This isn't GDI, stop. [editline]25th September 2013[/editline]
-snip-
The laser is pretty necessary for aiming, realistically, and should be a main feature of the weapon, not just a tiny laser people use to present powerpoints with.
I'm guessing most of you are disagreeing with what I said related to the laser, wich I have mixed feelings about. What about the grip? (I had worded this better but my reply got deleted as I copied a comment, heh).
You need to glasses.
What :v:
Oops, I made it a little too shiny now :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/kZl0zLY.png[/t] -Grigori knows it too well That's what I get for texturing stuff when my mind's all hazy from a cold.
okay is good no more touch
Oops, I made it a little too shiny now :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/kZl0zLY.png[/t] -Grigori knows it too well That's what I get for texturing stuff when my mind's all hazy from a cold.
Isn't metal supposed to be this shiny? Anyway, looks good, i would complain about the wood, but meh. EDIT: Come to think of it, the reciever has some weird bumps, and... tone down the phong a bit.

looking nice
Looks like it needs an exponent map.
Actually it does, I just forgot to add it to the VMT :v:
looking nice
Eeh sorta, gotta fix a lot of stuff on it though.
Anyone here think that the Combine Soldiers should bleed blood similar to the Hunter's blood?
No. I wouldn't mind if it were much darker (almost black) though. Oh hey, I wonder who disagrees. Look who it is.
Anyone here think that the Combine Soldiers should bleed blood similar to the Hunter's blood?
where would they bleed from?
I think it would be pretty cool and unsettling if plain clear water looking liquid came out of Combine soldiers and stalkers, but that would require decals that can refract and have cubemaps and I don't think that's possible.

Hell, Black Mesa used particles with waterfalls/pipe leaks, and they did a damn-well fine job on it. EDIT: Not to mention the antlion guards.
Oh, I mean for the puddles and the blood that gets on walls and shit.
I'm pretty sure they're supposed to have regular blood. They're not robots or aliens, just people with lots of crazy-ass surgery. [editline]28th September 2013[/editline] like Cher
it's heavily implied combine soldiers have had most of their organs removed. coupling that with their pale skin (seen in that model that's never(?) seen in game) would it really be too far fetched to say they no longer have human blood in them?

But the game shows otherwise. :[
Eh, why bother; it's more work, more perf, etc. to change what their 'blood' is, we should just leave it as is.
eh, why bother remaking all the weapon models, why bother fixing errors in map geometry, why bother redoing all the textures; it's more work, more perf, etc. to change what their 'blood' is, we should just leave it as is. :p
eh, why bother remaking all the weapon models, why bother fixing errors in map geometry, why bother redoing all the textures; it's more work, more perf, etc. to change what their 'blood' is, we should just leave it as is. :p
i know you're just making an overexaggerated sarcastic remark, but really though i don't expect most people that are working on the mod to go changing things just because they can because it will take more time when the alternative.. to leaving it as it is.. is easier, and makes more sense. like, for an example there might be some models that don't even need to be remade because they're good enough in the scheme of things. that one model not being remade to save time does not void all other work done on the mod
And the fact that this mod isn't meant to be a reinterpretation. If Valve really wanted their blood to be black, clear, aquamarine or iridescent I'm sure they would and could have done so.
Eh, why bother; it's more work, more perf, etc. to change what their 'blood' is, we should just leave it as is.
Would it be that hard to color the blood particle?
I thought we already agreed the blood was staying red
Would it be that hard to color the blood particle?
No, but why would you? By that logic, we would have to change the blood of every other creature in the game depending on its biology and that would be not only a waste of time, but no one will care about it being there.
The combine soldiers are heavily modified humans or something so i'd imagine they have different looking blood (maybe looking like a mix of normal and hunter blood?)
But why, why would they have that? [editline]28th September 2013[/editline] Hunters and striders are extraterrestrial life forms.
