hilariously nowhere near the milestone of bad hdr and bloom as vanilla ep2 and dont get me started on the bloom during the scene just after you close off the silo doors during the combine invasion (aka where alyx and uriah come out to get you)
Interesting that the DogVSStrider scene is left unchanged: But seems outland turned into a coast:
I love how horribly tiled the ground is,
Well to be fair you shouldn't be that high in the air.
Well to be fair you shouldn't be that high in the air.
From the looks of it, it'd still be shit on the ground.
I like it and I think it's much closer to a real world scale. Docks are gigantic. Whether or not it fits HL2 is just a matter of opinion. But if HL2 were made today judging by Valve's more recent games they'd probably make all the areas a lot larger and more realistic just like that.
Everything in HL2 is already oversized to fit the player & npc hulls. And while there are some incredibly large docks IRL, not all of them are. It's also a complete shame to build some big, fun looking things like that to only have them be background scenery.
Can we please stop all this Fake Factory Cinematic Mod discussion? This is not the thread for it.
That AR2 looks like pure sex. Though I assume they'd have to be optimized for use in-game.
Other than the pink GravGun color I really like those, pistol takes up a little too much of the screen. But they are nice and smooth.
Pinecleandog has produced an updated version of the trainstation trolleys. Textures are a WIP.
Every two handed pistol model I've seen looked awkward. Including this one.
Every two handed pistol model I've seen looked awkward. Including this one.
My only complaint is that the motions seem far too practiced, they need to look a little more novice.
My only complaint is that the motions seem far too practiced, they need to look a little more novice.
Gordon has been on the Hazard Course at least once, with a shooting range as well. You'd think he would be at least able to handle firearms, if not professionally, then at least adequately enough to not fumble with everything.

Textures are a WIP.
Need more polygons on the flat base part. or a good AO bake because I see there is a lip but there's no depth too it. It looks like you took two tiling textures and uv'd it over the thing. That's sort of a cheap lazy way to texture, AO bake it. But that texture is sexy.

I picked up a pistol and I was able to insert a mag 90-95% percent of the time with no fumbling. this is without any prior gun experience.
This, and he's already been through the events of HL1, and he's been through gun training in black mesa I'd think he'd be a damn expert at this point
Yet, he chose to switch from two-handing a glock in HL1 to one-handing his USP because...? I mean, hell, to him it's been like 5 minutes since he escaped.
Yet, he chose to switch from two-handing a glock in HL1 to one-handing his USP because...?
I guess for the same reason he can carry all his weapons at once
I guess for the same reason he can carry all his weapons at once
I think it's fairly obvious that he's holding all the weapons in his spare hand.

You'd think he would be at least able to handle firearms, if not professionally, then at least adequately enough to not fumble with everything.
He's also been in stasis for 10-20 years and despite having no prior skill with weaponry with the exception of the MP5SD/M4A1 (HL1/HL1HD) from the hazard course he still somehow managed to perfectly use every weapon under the sun. I'm not saying he has to fumble with everything, I'm saying that it shouldn't be so smooth. Hell it's completely missing the whole paf paf paf flailing about of the iconic hl2 pistol animations too.
I cite gameplay and story segregation.
or strong, military-man Gordon who can throw each bullet for his revolver up into the air and catch each one in the cylinder as they fall back down, all while smoking on a cigar and uttering hard-ass catchphrases. "...........................................".
Fixed
Don't forget hes had 20 years for gman to fuck with him during that stasis
Now I'm just imagining G-man pulling pranks on Gordon while he was in stasis.
