Now I'm just imagining G-man pulling pranks on Gordon while he was in stasis.
Gordon is woken up from stasis with stuff written all over his face like he was the first to fall asleep at a party.
Gordon is woken up from stasis with stuff written all over his face like he was the first to fall asleep at a party.
And shaving cream hair and beard. That's what ya get for fallin' asleep Gordon!
Maybe as an easter egg you could put that writing on his face. You never really see it in game, so you'd only notice it if you extracted the actual model or looked at it in a model viewer

That would just look weird with a dong drawn on his face.
"Sorry about the cranes!" - Gordon, Half-Life 2 Enhancement Mod, voiced by Fred Tatasciore
And now that I imagine Gordon with Baird's voice and personality, everything falls into place.
And shaving cream hair and beard. That's what ya get for fallin' asleep Gordon!
They actually cut his pony tail off.
They actually cut his pony tail off.
..Didn't his ancestor Ivan the Space Biker have a huge beard? I suppose Gordon isn't interested in what Francis does.
So Ive made a concept for gordon after hearing these last few posts...

You can see it on many of his textures depicting the city. Still a stupid fucking reason. Plus I'm looking at Riga right now on Google Earth, don't see anything like that at all.
Hey Robinate, mind if I ask how that spas model is coming? Are you still working on it?
Hey Robinate, mind if I ask how that spas model is coming? Are you still working on it?
Yeah, I'm still working on it. I just don't have much time to work, as I am really busy with school. But do not worry, I will have it done as soon as possible and as soon as I have found a way to UV map the heatshield.
if it helps, what I did was put all of the holes into one uv space since their shapes were pretty much identical and it saved a lot of space and gave the inside of the heatshield minimal space because it was probably never going to be seen or lit directly

i told him to wait before we fixed the glow but he didn't! he didnt wait [t]http://mrbrightside.thanez.net/WIP/HL2/hl2%202013-10-11%2020-18-04-96.png[/t]
That AR2 looks like pure sex. Though I assume they'd have to be optimized for use in-game.
it's very much ingame (not animated yet, but ingame nevertheless) and less performance intensive than the gravity gun, shotgun, crossbow, and the RPG

Don't forget the orange dots on the tip of the pincers, I think that's also missing on that model.

Fictional story, fictional corporation, fictional characters, fictional technology, fictional weapons, fictional invasion, I don't get why it's so hard for people to wrap their heads around it being a fictional location.
I might be mistaken and it might be your intention to deviate from the original design, but your Gravgun is missing the bars that open and close the pincers. http://www.gameranx.com/img/11-Dec/gravity-gun-1.jpg
One thing I never liked about that Gravity Gun prop, he was going for an effect to make it look like "red-hot metal, or perhaps lava" when I always thought it was supposed to be a Xen crystal & that the claws on it were to make it resemble the Anti-Mass Spectrometer from HL1. Red-hot metal's the Crossbow's thing, not the GG. It should be all glassy like the sample in Black Mesa East.
ooh, glassy and undulating... That reminds me, is there any way the xen crystals could be revamped and made to be more "tangible" than HL2's default without drastically changing its "spirit"? I get the feeling that the crystal in HL2 is the way it is because they just wanted to throw a water normal map on a rock and call it a day because "that looks nice and alien and impossible." Maybe something along the lines of a translucent orange tinted bismuth.
I'm pretty sure they just reused the material used for those liquid-filled glass tubes in Kleiner's lab. I didn't even notice the jiggling until you mentioned it.
I think something like this would be more appropriate, cause thats what I imagined HL1 would look like IRL
They actually cut his pony tail off.
"Aw man, you cut the ponytail. Sellout."
"Aw man, you cut the ponytail. Sellout."
Wrong Half-Life remake mod. Also did a quick photoshop of what those crystals would look like in xen orange
so what was the decision on how the AR2 reloads anyway, if there even was one? would it stay the same, is the whole magazine going to be replaced, or that weird auto-loading clip-based hybrid someone suggested?
Wrong Half-Life remake mod. Also did a quick photoshop of what those crystals would look like in xen orange
Ooh, something like that with a nice (I know) chromatic abberation effect as well as the refraction would be fucking amazing.
Since we're back on this topic again
The Combine voice thingy calls it a "counter-resonant singularity device", which, since it's the only weapon that doesn't levitate away from you in the confiscator, probably means it contains negative mass. Since Xen crystals are analyzed using an Anti-Mass Spectrometer, it's safe to assume that Xen crystals also have negative mass. So it isn't unreasonable to guess that the Gravity Gun contains Xen crystals. Ta-da, go slap on the refraction shaders.

City 17 isn't a single place, it's based off many places and doesn't have a real-life equivalent.
I know that City 17 is combination of many places. I was saying FF is trying to make it Riga in his mod. There are Latvian Maps all over the place, mostly of Riga. I wasn't saying it was Riga.
Since we're back on this topic again
But thats why it makes sense. The mass is negative, so it probably has a type of attraction. thats probably why you never see a free crystal, they're always held by a device or lodged in the ground
