Making a velocity buffer wouldn't be that hard though, Biohazard did it and I was beginning to make one before I figured I got motion sickness from that
So basically we shouldn't do it because motion sickness anyway?
How about leaving it as an option, because some people enjoy motion blur in first person games as it adds immersion?

Yesterday you asked me how TrackMania is. Well, why don't you judge it by yourself?

There might be a slight delay in my work :v: (I will do as much as I can though during my brief holiday)
Also, got any suggestions for the website? Should there be a Modding section with tutorials and such (with links to the forum)?
Edit: Right, maybe I should't had posted this seeing as it's totaly unrelated but oh well, it's too late now (sorry :c).
Nah man, that's the way it looks for me.

I don't get all the dumbs, god forbid a developer that puts his hard work into a mod share something nice that happened to him. He even asked a valid question about the mod:
Also, got any suggestions for the website? Should there be a Modding section with tutorials and such (with links to the forum)?
that nobody seemed to notice. I can't answer since it would probably be more appropriate for actual modders to input what they want.

Yes.
Like that HD-texture tutorial pages ago
You know, I heard Half-Life mirrors textures to reduce repetitiveness. Are we doing that, and if not, why? And if I'm dumb, do you mind telling me why?
You know, I heard Half-Life mirrors textures to reduce repetitiveness. Are we doing that, and if not, why?
No it does not.

That'd just make it tile even worse
Here's a random seamless texture, that texture tiled, and mirrored

In the normal tiled texture, you can only see repeating if you look carefully, where the mirrored texture has really obvious "Rorschach" style patterns
You gave a really bad example, specially considering the state of graphics fidelity in the HL era, I have no knowledge if Goldsrc can do it in the engine level but taking Pokemon Stadium that used such tricks to give amazing graphical fidelity in limited hardware as an example show that it works well in specific cases

The walls, the pokeball and even the ground textures are mirrored, all processed by hardware in a single polygon quad
Stop Abusing the Source of USSPOST.COM :downs:
I know the skybox textures were mirrored. I imagine some textures meant to be symmetrical are made using mirrored textures to reduce file size, but that's about it.
cool
Back to the drawing board.

Making stuff without a proper concept is kinda difficult.

Care to put a comma between come and freeman?
More WIPs, just brainstorming now. I'll probably not use this anyway.

lorem ipsum has been like, the default placeholder text for anything since the 60s.

No, the skyboxes weren't mirrored, they had the parts below the horizon line often removed, but the sky is a real panorama.
Wow, that Example Chapter video loaded the level pretty fast. Is it because of the Alien swarm engine or just because the map is small?
I know since Ken enabled some extensions during compile (the new intel one, SSE2, etc.) the maps load a lot faster now.

No shit sherlock, but what does it mean. Im sorry if I don't speak latin or whatever it is.
H. Rackham's 1914 translation – in the aforementioned Loeb Classical Library edition – with the major source of lorem ipsum highlighted:
[32] But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing of a pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?
[33] On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice is untrammeled and when nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure is to be welcomed and every pain avoided. But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted. The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains.
