Don't start this again indeed. Lets start what should be the next logo!
I believe the name should be changed to "Half Life 2: Enrichment"
Please, don't even joke about the names or logos, it wastes space, and we've been through enough of that from the last 4 threads.
seriously, the logo actually looks good now
Gravy Gun Mk2. Spent a fair bit of time redoing some of the mesh and re-uving it. Then retextured it using the crits from before and added the glowy shite with the use of a selfillum mask. Also the barrel is shorter. Textures are a base at the moment, though I put the detail stuff into the phong mask to see how it'd look and it gives it an interesting look where the shine fades where scratches are supposed to be.
Looking good guys, I'll be sure to keep track of this mod.
Looks a bit plasticy.
Agree. The metal bits need a punchier specular. I think the emissive parts of the metal bars going over the "core" are a bit too pronounced too. It looks more like they're heated -borderline melting- than illuminated.
are you going to look into fixing the glow thats shittily plaguing across the grids on the barrel or was that intentional if its the latter, it still looks terribly wrong
Obviously will be fixed, I literally just got the brush and scribbled it over the texture willy-nilly. Corgi will most likely being giving it a once-over with his texturing skills.

[editline]2013[/editline] Oh, actually Zero Hour has requested to do the texture instead.

I'd suggest baking the glow in using a ray-traced light (emitted from the "glowing" part).
Barrel's too long. :)
Agree. The metal bits need a punchier specular.
I think it's because the metal is greenish but the specular is white: http://www.manufato.com/?p=902

The gravity gun is only held with one hand? I was always under the impression that it was always held with both hands and it had two handles just for that purpose, just that you couldn't see the other handle because of the way Gordon was holding it.
nah, they just didn't put the right hand on there. same thing with the default shotgun.

The gravity gun never had a vey bright glow until the chapters in the citadel. Tone down the glow by a fair bit.

I have always suspected that the glowing part of the gravity gun was made out of radioactive cheese. Now, my suspicions are certainty.
Those C17 shots look to cheerful, could stand to choken up the atmosphere a bit. That or darken a bit.
Disagree, the "normal" atmosphere is what made HL2's atmosphere. The world didn't suddenly plunge into darkness for no reason when the Combine showed up, they stayed the way they were. There was a sun over Europe during the Black Death, there was a sun over Europe during World War 2, and there's a sun over Europe during the Combine reign.
I always wondered if there was some sort of magical phlebotinium xen crystal in the gravity gun and that's what gives it its glow.

How does Gordon even hold that thing up? Both handle grips look like they give no support :v:
I guess we have to assume that the weapon is made out of lightweight materials with counterweights on the rear :v:
Since we brought up the gravity gun, again, I would like to post some media that might help out fleshing the final model and textures. One thing that really stands out to me is the lack of any electrodes on the the claw tips. At the moment, they just look aesthetic. I imagine they're supposed to act as channels to divert some energy from the main body, producing the "holding" effect when you grab things. Could we also see some shots of it with the claw retracted?

judging by the way alyx handles it the grav gun seems pretty heavy, and it looks like you pivot the weight along the left handle by pushing down with the right. seems painful :c
