Isn't that from like, 2010.
(As in, released on 2010...)
They have a github with the latest code.
Its 100mb in rar
Fix'd
Also,
If it's singleplayer you're both client and server.
Anyway, if this happens and it ends up as sexy as L4D's zombies, I'm all for it.
Speaking of L4D, can we have a survival mode? I personally think that would be fun as butts, especially if the NPCs aren't pants-on-head retarded.
If it's singleplayer you're both client and server.
Fun fact, simulating a client is done server-side. They're entirely server-side. With the exception of rendering the client-side entity.

This and multiplayer would really benefit from having Killzones warzone mode.
which basically switches gamemodes during the duration of the match, keeping things from stagnating i say.

Funfact: You're arguing about semantics right now because this is pretty much what I meant in the post above the one that's quoted.
Fun facts are never fun.

Not with that attitude.
Ken is always busy or offline when I get on Steam. So I'll ask here. Are you guys going to use the hacky CSM/Dynamic shadows from the sky. I was just wondering. I was getting back into modding and tried out my old system. Which I know is what Ken started out with. And it's not possible to really optimize without either dropping the coverage or speeding up the Source engine's shadow mapping.
Honestly. Unless you get someone the same caliber of Bio to write a real CSM system with a new shadow mapping system. I think the best option may be to get RTT shadow receiving working on models and to self shadow if possible. Seems like Halo(3,Reach) and UE3 did something similar. It's not perfect. But way cheaper and may be an option if you don't have to do too much.
i'd kinda like to see some of these rebel designs, might be too late though

Its definitely not to late.
i'd buy the mod for real money if they included the ones with the combine soldier vests
i'd buy the mod for real money if they included the ones with the combine soldier vests
Well i'd buy it for monopoly money.
Right before you go to jail.
Now there's something refreshing for the eyes. Variety in rebel clothing. That is a must.
I'm not a fan of the bandanas, though.
I'm not a fan of the bandanas, though.
Optional bandanas, of course
options for gay barney pls
I'm not a fan of the bandanas, though.
I mean they sort of make sense, what with all the pollution the combine probably make.

A Bandanna wouldn't do much; maybe a nice HEPA filter mask, probably similar to what the CPs have.

It would still keep out at least some dust that would naturally get kicked up from all the fighting and destruction.
It's really not even the bandanas themselves that are annoying - it's just associated with Call of Duty MLG 420 noscope stuff for me, personally.
I'm not a fan of the soldier vests. The giant orange Lambda bulls-eyes look retarded, but without them it'd probably be too easy to mistake them for actual combine soldiers from a distance.

I actually like it alot and think it should be one of the variations added to the game. It would be logical, why would you use armor from CP's and not from Troops which is probably more protective then the CP one? But I agree with the lambda logo being a bit too obnoxious on this original design but no one's saying it has to be exactly like the concept.

my imagined reason is that the vest requires a transhuman wearer with the appropriate augmentations in order to work. health dispensers and chargers work through the vest, so i assume the vest is connected to the soldier through his implants.
[editline].[/editline]
actually fuck it that doesn't really matter since civil protection units use the same health chargers

I'm pretty sure you'd recognize them over the fact that (if they were done as in the concept) they don't wear the helmets, don't have the same pants and also roll up their sleeves. It'd be pretty hard to mistake them for actual combine soldiers.
Yeah it's not like people see Barney and unload their magazines at him. One piece of a uniform is easy to tell apart from a full uniform. Even just not having a helmet made Barney stand out enough.

even though they could use the vest simply for protection

I think it was my rough 3d concepts of these that actually got me recruited into this mod. I'd like to give some of them a go, particularly Combine Vest and Bandana.

Please and thank you
Say, are the rebels going to be equipped in proportion to the way they're dressed? I mean obviously a rebel carrying a Red Cross bag is a Medic, but what about that one rebel with ammo chains hanging all around his shoulder and neck? Would he be carrying heavier weaponry as opposed to the rebel wearing a simple backpack who might run about flaunting a pistol?
Err, what I mean to ask is will the rebels appearances just be aesthetics, or will you guys attempt to arm them appropriate to what they wear? That would be pretty neat. Would sort of give the impression that each rebel became specialized in a certain field of combat during their training.
