The pictures you posted aren't Juniez's textures, those are Snoodles', and Kwant's...
Bad Reading x 1 for me then.
looks like juniez won't win please juniez release on mantuna hl2 anims or something and i'll love you foreva
sorry friends it looks like it'll never see the light of day rip in peace model ;.;
sorry friends it looks like it'll never see the light of day rip in peace model ;.;
Get it compiled as a world and view model and release it to the public.
Well, as Kwant's model is getting the higher vote it seems, I started make a re-re-texture. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Yz7vsze.png[/t] [sub]FYI, the part's I've actually textured so-far are the side (except for the little safety lever, scope, trigger, and extra details.) The back grip, and front handle (still working on that as it's a bit low-quality at the moment).[/sub] Also, a question I have for you guys: Should the back part of the gun be darker than the front, like on the vanilla model's texture?
Get it compiled as a world and view model and release it to the public.
Both? No please, compile as Combination model and I'll be in early paradise before Summer holiday. Aren't we supposed to get more efficient?
Both? No please, compile as Combination model and I'll be in early paradise before Summer holiday. Aren't we supposed to get more efficient?
I meant in terms of Valve's system. You can't have a weapon that's rigged up to be a view model as a world model at the same time. Yes you can use the same model as the world model, but you need to compile it with different bones.
Well, as Kwant's model is getting the higher vote it seems, I started make a re-re-texture. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Yz7vsze.png[/t] [SUB]FYI, the part's I've actually textured so-far are the side (except for the little safety lever, scope, trigger, and extra details.) It's got weathering in parts that it really wouldn't have such as around the edges of the holes and where the screw things are. Also the whole thing needs to be black rather than dark grey. Otherwise I like the new front grip texture, it looks more authentic than the other one.
Also, a question I have for you guys: Should the back part of the gun be darker than the front, like on the vanilla model's texture?
Yeah, the contrast added depth and kept the gun from being a grey block in the lower right corner of your screen.

Ironically yours looks more like the smg found in the hl2 leak:

The scratches and wear near the front of the gun is super convincing, though farther back there are way too many in some really odd places. Wishing you'd kept the firemode indicators. So far though it seems almost like a bit of a downgrade, though I trust you know where you're going with things enough to keep working on it. Regarding your question, yes, the two-tone design was extremely appealing.
combine weapons in hl2 are pretty clean, it's the rebel weapons that are worn down and stuff

It is polymer plastic, I used an actual picture of one. I admit it's still a bit low-quality looking, it'll be fixed as I go.
You guys need to understand that sometimes it's not all about super realism sometimes a dirty texture just makes a little more sense. Think about it In HL2 even the combine's gear isn't clean. The water is muddy and dirty. Nothing is going to look good. I'm not saying everything is dirt and grunge, but This isn't HL2: Clean. Freeman drags his weapons through hell and back so in my opinion it only makes sense.

[editline]7th May 2013[/editline] Corgiiiiii, what happened to trying out a version with a metallic front end a-la HL2 style?

Maybe dirter in EP2 or EP1, but HL2 the combine still have a firm grasp on Earth.

I love that model. I have no clue why, it's so bad it's good imho.
Maybe dirter in EP2 or EP1, but HL2 the combine still have a firm grasp on Earth.
If we do EP1/EP2, we should add more variation to the weapons. Like, make them dirter, etc.

Seeing as we are adding additional content, will this scene from the beta be re-integrated? I think it really adds to the tone of the coast chapters.

? [t]http://i.imgur.com/fYrKZ0z.png[/t] and to those that say it looks like it's rusting: [t]http://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/RECOIL-Magazine-MP7-Too-Dangerous.jpg[/t][t]http://pakol.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/mp7q.jpg[/t]
It's better. Still strange, but better. I anticipate the addition of your shaders and lighting things, should definitely make it pop out more. It does seem a little too brown though; might I suggest pushing the overall hue of the weapon to something closer to the blue end of the spectrum? Might make it look more like the second image in your post.

Starting to look great man!
Does this mean no shiny metal front half?
