Not a beta mod. Those aren't even seemingly canon since there's never any reference made to them.

The AK makes perfect sense. there are so many in the world right now, the Resistance not having any at all would be silly considering they're in eastern europe, but I can understand why Valve cut them.

Well. It makes perfect sense. And I think it'd look cool. But the player doesn't need it. Since we have the ar2. And making it NPC only would be inconsistent. Sadly. I got no real problem with an AK weapon. Since I don't find hl2 gun play to be super balanced or what ever. But that's a lot of work (FP animations and model, etc) for no real reason.
We discussed the AK before, I think in this thread. Ultimately we concluded that, while it would make some sense to have the rebels using it, we would not give it to the player- and thus having a new weapon that the player could not use is a waste of time to create that asset unless it was really [I]really[/I] special.
So no, we will not have the AK in our mod.
there is no ak-47. it was a posed image from gmod.
HL2 originally had an AK-47, called AR1. Was supposedly removed because the rifles were almost all alike 'xcept the OICW (true AR2) has a sight.

I as a Linux user would love this obviously, but I guess their engine branch does not have Linux support, and porting is certainly out of scope for this mod ...

There's a "Do Not Drop Weapon" flag where the gun vanishes on death, there's also plenty of Rebels seen out-of-bounds that said gun and flag could be used on, as well as friendly rebels that are "safe" and do not get killed. But that's a moot point since Corgi already said no twice :v:

That looks really good. you captured hl2's art style perfectly and i love it
If you ever did add an AK you could just add a gun drop feature, then the player could choose to take the AR1 or the AR2 but not both.
