What I'm talking about is already kind of a thing. See: Left 4 Dead, Alien Swarm, hats in TF2.
That would require a big recoding of something afaik. It's probably easier to make like 3 extra colors per vehicle and make them bodygrouped skins.

All the developers would need to do is make the texture work with it (which isn't hard).
I might be misremembering, but isn't this already the plan?
Yup, 'tis the plan.
I might be misremembering, but isn't this already the plan?
Its already possible with a vmt to give different skins to a single object, you can adjust the skin in the prop_dynamic options.
I still think we should at least have remodelled vehicles. Some of them just look so obviously dated. Seeing the trains with a decent retexture and some proper modelling (the wheels, wtf is up with them? Like some octogon that could be held by a fat dude with a beard telling us what it is, bet he even stars in a movie because his octogon identifying skills are superb) Some of the cars have blurry as fuck textures and I just look at it like "wat, were these painted by a bunch of 4 year olds?"

Instead of an 6 or whatever sided shape for a wheel, make it 18, and maybe a flange. Again, doesn't have to be up to date with modern standards, just enough that you can recognise it and go "Woah, that looks better than before". I've also found it weird that the blue train is just cut in half from the original, like wat
Okay, time for a overhaul with recent suggestions. The mod is now called: Half Stealth 2: Russian Terrorism Enhancement. The game is being ported onto UDK4 for unreal life like graphics. Options for graphics are Ultra, Extreme, OMG THIS IS REAL LIFE. Lock Picking, stealth, melee animation kills, back-stabs, disguises will all be added. The new enemy is not the combine but the Russian terrorists how want to destroy Merica', you will play as the Marines. Team killing, citizen killing and all that fun stuff has added. Everything will be remolded and texture to 150% perfection and the main characters will be changed. Barney is now Capt. Barney, who will now be in your squad to help defeat Russian terrorists Dr. Issac Kleiner is now General Kleiner, he will be giving your mission briefings and tutorials. Alyx is now a a Brazilian Super Model who you will have a relation ship with. Expect some XXX love scenes in full HD cut-scenes. (Much more honest then CM) Mossman is now a Russian spy (Can you tell by her Russian accent?) see will now attempt to Kill Alyx and you must save her! Lamarr is a beefed up Guard Dog which is in your squad. Breen is now Breenazak the Russian Terrorist leader. More information will be released shortly!
No but seriously, the some of the models do need a remodeling to a higher quality like Kickin said.
why brazilian
Various meshes of various objects will be improved depending on the mesh, where it's seen, how detailed it really needs to be, and how often you see it. Like the breakable crates and ammo crates will have mesh improvements, while the antenna you see on various roofs won't because they're too far away to even really tell if they were improved. We can get away with a lot using only textures.
why brazilian
because FakeFactory used a brazilian super model for Alyx.
Adriana Lima, is the name of that brazilian super model. Though, other options exist; Jamil Mullen etc... Personally, I liked the Cinematic Mod not because of some German talking, but also because of something to... how to say, use as Playboy-like material.

Just incase you were all wondering where the hell I went; I've been busy as I go through the suicidal process of configuring and downloading countless GB of bullshit; as I attempt to reinstall Windows 7. I am pissed of course though that I did loose all my gamedata, MAPPING ASSETS:suicide:and so forth - I know I didn't have my data backed up since I was out of partitions and am too broke to buy another HDD. It's going to be a long ass time before I recover from this one...

Here are some things I think should be adressed: 1. At the end of the Nova Prospekt chapter, in the Antlion Guard battle before Entanglement, I've found that during the battle, the Prison Guards will ignore you. If they are still alive after the battle, the Combine Prison Guards remain friendly and won't react if you kill them. I think that after the battle, they should either turn on you, run off and patrol somewhere else, or just sit down with the rebel "resting" animations and stay in the room. 2. More paths for NPCs would be great. Like Combine jumping down from the top pier during Highway 17 at that one Northern Petrol building with the crane, etc. It's odd have soldiers not climb down the ladder/jump onto the lower level, instead staying like 5 feet up and spamming grenades down the ladder. 3. I don't know if this is at all possible, but instead of the current squad mechanics where rebels cluster around you like tween girls to Edward Cullen, have them take up leaning positions around you indoors instead of getting in your way all the time.
I've got a few requests * Let me kill friendly npcs give me game overs i don't care just let me fucking do it * a proper gib system i'm sick of combine soldiers getting hit by an explosion and doing cartwheels at best * make corpses bleed somehow and maybe give blood a generally bigger presence in combat if you attack someone there's a blood splash and a wound, but nothing ever gets on the view model and if you attack the corpse all you get is dust. how realistic.

Valve probably never intended them to survive that long, they're actually programmed to be neutral on that part 'cause there's a goddamn Guard in the room. I like it that way, they should just make it so that any survivors (although there isn't supposed to be any) turn hostile when the Guard dies. 2. Agreed, although there's no AI or animation for ladders so they won't climb them, they can jump down though. Even in EP2 Valve just hid the AI's ladder non-use by just having the friendly Vort teleport up to you once you got slightly ahead. 3. It's possible but might require heavy scripting, I dunno. I know that in one of the HL2 leak maps, the AI took positions next to a door on a building. I was impressed and wished they did that in-game too. I'll get screens of it later if I can find the map again (there's thousands of leak maps).
I've got a few requests * Let me kill friendly npcs give me game overs i don't care just let me fucking do it
No matter how many amazing, absolutely perfect reasons you give for why this should happen, it wont. Telling you now lest someone tries to start a discussion about it.

That can actually very easily be solved with entity IO in the map.
You can't just spurt out lists of things saying "Here's what needs to be adjusted/changed/fixed" It needs to have a reason as to "why it is a game breaking feature or bug;" and "why is it more important than bigger problems" P.S. - fixed my computer, I'm so fucking happy right now

So it's usually worth it to find somewhere to back it up to, S3, Glacier, Drive, etc.

Isn't really that important, but would be nice once all the remotely game-breaking bugs and things are fixed. 2. Makes combat much more interesting, and doesn't make the Combine look like pussies afraid of jumping 3 feet from a questionably-structured pier onto another questionably-structured pier. 3. Solves the problem of annoying squad members, especially indoors. Something like this: http://youtu.be/4ddJ1OKV63Q?t=11m17s Note how they act independently of the player while still acting as a sort of "squad" with the player at the same time.
Wow it's like I'm really in gm_construct
The building next to spawn doesn't look like that anymore.
The building next to spawn doesn't look like that anymore.
Isn't it just a remake of that building with brushes though
The building next to spawn doesn't look like that anymore.
Look over the wall at the far end of the concrete strip.
