1. Valve probably never intended them to survive that long, they're actually programmed to be neutral on that part 'cause there's a goddamn Guard in the room. I like it that way, they should just make it so that any survivors (although there isn't supposed to be any) turn hostile when the Guard dies.
2. Agreed, although there's no AI or animation for ladders so they won't climb them, they can jump down though. Even in EP2 Valve just hid the AI's ladder non-use by just having the friendly Vort teleport up to you once you got slightly ahead.
3. It's possible but might require heavy scripting, I dunno. I know that in one of the HL2 leak maps, the AI took positions next to a door on a building. I was impressed and wished they did that in-game too. I'll get screens of it later if I can find the map again (there's thousands of leak maps).
3. Requires hardly any scripting if done cleverly.
Usually all your assets are fairly small <100GB. So it's usually worth it to find somewhere to back it up to, S3, Glacier, Drive, etc.
Maybe so, but filesize does not replace the actual (now wasted) time it took to make those assets usable :v:
I still have to...
1. Reinstall Garrysmod + Addons
2. Reinstall SDK + Hammer + Reconfig clusterfuck .txt files
3. Reinstall Mirror's Edge + Far Cry + HL2:DM + Dead Space
4. Reinstall 3DS Max
5. Rip Content from Mirror's Edge + Rig + Configure Materials in 3DS/Source
6. Test Content in Source
7. Redownload HL2 Beta Assets
... and that's just a summary - and step 5 alone was at least 5 months in the works! :suicide:
I'm going to get some reference pictures from my Library so you guys can use them for the bank or museum or whatever it was.
So, what I actually meant by that "Playboy" thing is nude female models. Mostly those of Alyx... geez, what perverted minds I and Fakefactory share, don't we? There was even a supposed-nude fast zombie vampire that's unfinished.
yeah i think we got that, thanks.

You're like the 12-year old who thinks they know more than anyone around them, but just spouts off useless trivia that nobody cares about or already knows.
also please keep your disgusting fetishes to yourself.

I was saying that backing your stuff up monthly is worthwhile investment.

I believe you're looking for a fan-fiction website, this is a thread for a remake of HL2.

I feel that there should be a slight pause before the Combine turn on you, as if Overwatch was telling them to not kill Freeman until the Antlion Guard dies.
Also, in that room, the roof support columns are really weird; you can break one with 5 crowbar hits, but slamming things into it with the Gravity Gun does nothing. :v:

Why would Overwatch tell them that?
They could have the target of:
A.) Big stupid annoying alien they can deal with using more people
or
B.) Annoying orange suit man that we haven't been able to kill the two days we've had hundreds of people after, and he's busy fighting the big stupid alien so hey he's paying less attention to us!
Which one do you think Overwatch is going to go with?
A.
you seem more worthy of the title boxbuilder than the guy already named boxbuilder.
Are you guys going to fix this part in Dark Energy where in Third-Person you can't see yourself? Is it too minor to deal with?

You shouldn't be playing in third person anyways?
I had a Player.mdl replacement and I played through Dark Energy with it.
You shouldn't be playing in third person anyways?
Some people like to play the game weird
For example, there was a race between some half life 2 runners where they used lowest settings + third person + drawworld 0

You can't even see yourself in third person normally. you're just a glob of polygons that kind of resembles what gordon freeman looks like

Not everyone does that.

you must have liked dark energy a lot
This isn't "My own Half-Life 2 Mod".

If anyone wants to mod HL2, all they need is HL2.
If anyone wants to mod HL2, all they need is HL2.
and modding skills.
and modding skills.
Everybody knows idea guys can mod too! They only need people to do the work.
and modding skills.
Not exactly, modding in itself is pretty easy to do in HL2. The issue is making your content. :v:

In theory, just mapping is a way to mod your own HL2 game, if you own HL2 and thus can use the assets
My only issue in modding is custom models+textures.
Talking about that dark matter part of the map, even though you shouldnt go third person, there should really be some changes to it though. When you're in first person, you can see that nothing is carrying you and you're just floating to breens office. It looks really silly.
at dark energy, when you start, before you have even reached the receiver to breen´s office, your gravity gun is already flying away, and when the elite holds it, the tractor beam that should be the one to get it off you, hits the gravity gun when it is already on the elite´s hands.

I noticed it the first time I was playing, you can look up and see there's nothing there

I think valve already fixed it themselves, surprisingly.
