off topic: is there a way to see everyone who stamped a post WHEN for example, over 30 people have stamped it with the same?
off topic: is there a way to see everyone who stamped a post WHEN for example, over 30 people have stamped it with the same?
are you talking about the weird cutoff the list has? I know there's some code that you can paste into chrome's dev console to fix it, but I personally use this
that would be a really cool throw back. [editline]sd[/editline] would be even cooler if there was a human skeleton wearing decaying scientist lab suits and glasses (reminiscent of hl1) :v: in pieces in some of the ichty carcuses
It's been how many years since HL1, though? It'd have to be one hell of a lab coat to not decay.
It's been how many years since HL1, though? It'd have to be one hell of a lab coat to not decay.
I've got a woolen jacket that's over 70 years old and apart from minor moth damage, it's fine :v:
Just have their "ridiculous ties", who knows what they're made of. Could be made out of some experimental material and that's why everyone has to wear them, for testing, and why they're so ridiculous so they stand out....also they don't sound like they're too comfortable the way the one guy kept fiddling with his.
If their ties were an experiment, that would probably explain why both them and the ichies died.
It's been how many years since HL1, though? It'd have to be one hell of a lab coat to not decay.
Not to mention a hell of a distance to travel considering Black Mesa is in Mexico and City 17 is in Eastern Europe.
Well, water-creatures travel LONG distances.
I've got a woolen jacket that's over 70 years old and apart from minor moth damage, it's fine :v:
Is your woolen jacket being digested and dealing with rotten dead body parts getting on it+weather every day since the ichy corpse washed up?
Is your woolen jacket being digested and dealing with rotten dead body parts getting on it+weather every day since the ichy corpse washed up?
no but it reeks of mildew and doubles it's weight when it gets wet :v:
no but it reeks of mildew and doubles it's weight when it gets wet :v:
Then I would recommend not getting it wet
Not to mention a hell of a distance to travel considering Black Mesa is in Mexico and City 17 is in Eastern Europe.
What about from Black Mesa East? Pretty sure it was probably once as active as Black Mesa (central?) with scientists, security guards, etc. And we know the resonance cascade wasn't confined to Black Mesa so portals probably showed up over at Black Mesa East as well as many other parts of the world.

So, what's been the progress on the following? Just asking because these hyped me the most. SCANDAL. :v:
How did Barney, Doctor Kliener, Eli, Alyx and Dog get from Mexico to East Europe?!
How did Barney, Doctor Kliener, Eli, Alyx and Dog get from Mexico to East Europe?!
it's been like 20 fucking years, if they didn't get there over the course of that time, they were forcibly relocated by the combine.
How did Barney, Doctor Kliener, Eli, Alyx and Dog get from Mexico to East Europe?!
They probably moved there because Combine picked City 17 as their main "base", making it something like centre of their forces around the Earth. So instead of staying in America, they moved Europe so they could pottentially hit the "heart" of the web.
But did they catch a plane, did they make a boat, did they use relative teleportation? So many UN-answered questions! Half Life 2: [del]Blue[/del] Country Shift
I assumed the gman had a hand in getting many of the Black Mesa personnel there.
GMan is Valve And Valve use the power of retcon
I assumed the gman had a hand in getting many of the Black Mesa personnel there.
Doubt it. Gman isn't public transporter. Boat sounds more logical to me. I don't think Combine would allow humans use airplanes.
I imagine the combine would spend the next 20 years sorting and shifting humans from city to city to keep them more managable, going by the dialogue in the train station.
Project-lead and you don't know your Half-Life lore? SCANDAL. :v:
To be honest I never really put much thought into Black Mesa East, for some reason that was always the least interesting part for me...so I just assumed it was pretty much "Black Mesa- in the East". V:v:V I know pretty much all the other lore though..
Imo Black Mesa East is an old Soviet era fallout shelter for the people of Ravenholm, and possibly the workers from the various canal and coastal facilities. That perfectly explains why it's so large, deep underground, and most importantly the decontamination chambers protected by 2 sets of light blast doors. If the former City 17 were hit by a nuke, the Ravenholm area would be relatively unscathed but bathed in radiation, it's the perfect place for one.
I thought Black Mesa East was an extension of the dam network. It has a plethora of power lines connected into the station walls on the outside, I think. Plus there's a crapton of generators and electrical machinery inside.

It seemed like they "took over" the building after the obvious combine takeover.

The Hydro-Electric Dam itself is either unrelated or a 'front' for the shelter.
I thought Black Mesa East was an extension of the dam network. It has a plethora of power lines connected into the station walls on the outside, I think. I mean, a shed that leads down into the power station for the dam nearby? If I we're a citizen before the combine took over, I wouldv'e been thinking "Bomb shelter, bomb shelter, bomb shelter" I'd say it's a combination of both dam and nuke shelter. I mean if your building a dam right after WWII, your bound to think "This could be a great spot to also turn into a blast shelter" Although however unlikely, it is possible that its just a dam powerhouse and Eli and the team just nuke protected it within 20 years.
Doubt it. Gman isn't public transporter. Boat sounds more logical to me. I don't think Combine would allow humans use airplanes.
I imagine the gman quietly influenced the events around all the important characters, a whole chain of "Right man in the wrong place" events that would eventually have everyone end up in City 17, getting everything ready for Gordon's arrival
