Breen is trying to seduce me.
Breen is trying to seduce me.

I also detect some unspoken questions. Do our benefactors really know what's best for us? What gives them the right to make this kind of decision for mankind? Will they ever deactivate the suppression field and let us breed again? Allow me to address the anxieties underlying your concerns, rather than try to answer every possible question you might have left unvoiced. First, let us consider the fact that for the first time ever, as a species, immortality is in our reach. This simple fact has far-reaching implications. It requires radical rethinking and revision of our genetic imperatives. It also requires planning and forethought that run in direct opposition to our neural pre-sets. Let me assure you that the suppressing field will be shut off on the day that we have mastered ourselves...the day we can prove we no longer need it. And that day of transformation, I have it on good authority, is close at hand.
SimplePlanz is not part of the development team by the way.
Obviously he should be
SimplePlanz is not part of the development team by the way.
Just because I'm not part of the dev team yet doesn't mean one of my previous contributions cannot be used later as a reference or in the final build. For instance, the HL2 logo model I ported could be used in the intro sequence. There's also no need to "censor" my posts from other people just because I don't have a big ass portfolio under my belt
now make 3D models out of every subtitle and chapter name.

Who here has a big portfolio?
I have come back with no bang. Only progress.
Breen wanna dance with you.
Who here has a big portfolio?
I've seen some pretty impressive stuff from some of the modders

I will say thought that what you're offering right now is not something that we're interested in. If you're posting your own work in the thread and phrasing your posts as if you're actually in the development team, unknowing posters and lurkers alike will get the impression that what you're posting is what's in the mod at the current time. I by no means want to discourage you and I'm not at all asking for you to just 'give up and get out' as that's the worst thing anybody could do. Hell, add me on Steam and I'll do my best to help you out with stuff and lend you constructive criticism. As for a big ass portfolio, well, I don't have one personally but I hope to someday.
How much of perfomance cost would be if you put in Depth of Field on the guns rear end?
Speaking of logo models, I made this the other day.
dem smooth edges
How much of perfomance cost would be if you put in Depth of Field on the guns rear end?
If I'm holding a rifle irl, it doesn't get blurrier the closer it is to my shoulder.
it's a minor touch that i think looks great when playing on small screens or from a couch.
This is a game designed for the PC, and most people nowadays have rather large displays.
Personally I don't see much use at all for DoF in games- when playing them your eyes already pretty much "blur out" or disregard things around what you're looking at. With DoF in game's you're basically getting a double-dose, and the game also decides what you're looking at, not you. You could be looking, with your eyes, at something close up and the game could be blurring that just because you have your crosshair pointed in the distance.
If I'm holding a rifle irl, it doesn't get blurrier the closer it is to my shoulder.
You're not looking at it, are you? Hold it close, focus on what you'd shoot at, and if the rifle stays in focus you're probably Spider-man or some shit.

Personally, I'd love to see DoF on viewmodels too.

It looks nice from an artistic point of view.
What game is that? It looks nice from an artistic point of view.
Killzone 2, could also be the third one
It's 2 I'd say that the Killzone series and Black are the few games that have used DOF appropriately.
I wish they released Killzones on PC.
I think it might actually be pretty expensive for Source; because even the Simple DoF in Garry's Mod can lag at times
(ps gmod has no multicore no shit it lags)
I wish they released Killzones on PC.
Ive actually asked the lead artist this, they sadly cant because Sony legally owns the franchise. However he did a weird wink that there's always an off chance that the studio did something for the PC.
(ps gmod has no multicore no shit it lags)
What are you talking about? GMOD has multicore processor support right in the options. It's on it's own engine branch
What are you talking about? GMOD has multicore processor support right in the options. It's on it's own engine branch
Its been disabled though
Its been disabled though
Well fuck, I must be out of the loop - but I can't believe I never knew this. Since when has it been disabled?
