What are you talking about? GMOD has multicore processor support right in the options. It's on it's own engine branch
but the multicore option has nothing in it
Well fuck, I must be out of the loop - but I can't believe I never knew this. Since when has it been disabled?
since G13
(ps gmod has no multicore no shit it lags)
shaders aren't done on the cpu
shaders aren't done on the cpu
So I was technically right about the DOF. I have a super shitty laptop APU (AMD-A6 with Radeon HD 6520G 512MB vRAM and 6GB physical RAM)
Make it an option then. Personally, I'd love to see DoF on viewmodels too.
"Make it optional" should never be an excuse, even with something small like DoF on guns, which I'm also against.
Eh, if it was optional, it'd be an option. Not really an excuse.
not going to lie you kind of reak of "notice me please, i know things, you can use me" i think you're either trying to hard or not hard enough, i haven't personally decided yet
Like I really want people to notice that I'm a poor fuck who doesn't have a job. No, I make do with what I have; and I'm saving up for a gaming pc
You're not looking at it, are you? Hold it close, focus on what you'd shoot at, and if the rifle stays in focus you're probably Spider-man or some shit.
Uh-huh, so, think about this one: Assume you ARE looking at your weapon. Is it blurry? No? So why should it be forced in-game where logically your eyes should do that shit for you?
Are we seriously having an argument of why guns should should/should not be blurry?
Are we seriously having an argument of why guns should should/should not be blurry?
why not make everything blurry? [IMG_thumb]http://puu.sh/8S26U.jpg[/IMG_thumb] believe it or not this is a HL2 image
why not make everything blurry? [IMG_thumb]http://puu.sh/8S26U.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
You know you've played too much Half Life when you instantly recognise that's the first room in Nova Prospekt
You know you've played too much Half Life when you instantly recognise that's the first room in Nova Prospekt
Damn, I thought it was ravenholm
You know you've played too much Half Life when you instantly recognise that's the first room in Nova Prospekt
That's what I assumed as well, based on the colors.
Gordon lost his glasses
Too bad a "glasses" overlay would look too weird in-game
Too bad a "glasses" overlay would look too weird in-game
Honestly, I barely notice the rims of my glasses
To people who don't wear glasses: They're designed so the rims aren't in your vision.
This is pretty much what glasses look like when you wear them. [editline]18th May 2014[/editline] Your eyes never see the inner edge of the rim, so it looks like one big lens.

and Nixnax seems to think glasses are dumb, as he keeps rating every post related to them dumb.
and Nixnax seems to think glasses are dumb, as he keeps rating every post related to them dumb.
He was probably teased about them as a child. Isn't the classic bully insult to call a glasses-bearer "Four Eyes"? When NixNax switched to contacts, he never went back. This discussion is bringing up hard memories. We'd do best to change topics before we cause him serious mental trauma.
Too bad a "glasses" overlay would look too weird in-game
More importantly, it would be an incredibly silly feature that would hinder immersion instead of being the cause.
You shouldn't be able to see your glasses in-game, specially because when you are used to them you don't notice you are using them most of the time.
weve had some pretty remarkably groundbreaking discussions before but this might just be the icing on the cake
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/965202/butthurter.jpg[/t] Here is a preview of the airboat I drew. It's a work in progress, so take it easy guys.

Gordon's using RayBan's, he won't see the outer rim.
this thread has seen some remarkably groundbreaking discussions on features before some of which are unrealized satire from the unironic suggestions, but this might just be the icing on the cake
You serious? We had people bitching about an smg sight that you never use [editline]19th May 2014[/editline]
There you go
If that's an actual full in-game shader that we could enable for glassesless playthroughs that would be great but something about the crosshair has me doubting it.
