It's a diff between 2 images. Black means no difference, coloured pixels means there's a difference in that pixel. The point of the image is to show there is no difference between 2 textures.
But since there are colored pixels there is a difference no?
But since there are colored pixels there is a difference no?
Like 20 pixels total.
Meaning, it's pointless to do so.
Also I was playing more CSGO this morning on casual and had another "oh shit that's something HL2 could use" revelation.
So remember the friendlyfire discussion? Thinking back on that, it's not the ability to kill friendlies that I really truly want. The issue is how fucking jarring it is when you shoot at one and nothing fucking happens. I don't mean in terms of dying or anything, I mean the bullets just disappear. If your shots/crowbar whacks hit a citizen's hitbox, there isn't anything. What would be nice is to at least fix that to where if you're in the middle of a firefight and some dumbshit rebel decides to walk in front of your gun while you're firing like five feet away, there's actually a hit decal (and a pain yell from them and possible redirection so they don't keep running into your bullets would also be super chill). I mean, either way it's unrealistic, but at least it's consistent.
I would upload a video but FRAPS videos take for-fucking-ever to upload to YouTube and they're super low quality for some weird reason.

Just reencode them with something like Handbrake.
The one furthest to the left doesn't have a clipbrush on it, throw it through that one.
I just threw it over the top because apparently you can still do that
They fixed that nearly a month ago.
It actually wasn't even "they", iirc it was a single employee who decided he should try to fix some of the broken shit, and a lot of his fixes were things he accepted from the community, even map fixes. Which means we have second generation maps in HL2.
Fun Fact: The RPG in HL2 was based on the AT4 rocket launcher. Here's a reference for the RPG's textures:

Are you guys gonna improve the rocket's textures, and possibly beef up it's size too?

does anybody else think the rockets should not have unlimited fuel, but rather a four or five second burn that gives you maybe four good 180 degree turns out of it before it runs out of fuel and falls to the ground to explode? the current infini-rocket approach is fun to mess with, but it's silly.

-im on drugs-
That's seem as very silly thing to put into the game. Fighting gunships would be only harder and I don't think it needs that.
I've never needed more than three or four seconds to contact a rocket with a gunship, unlimited rockets are not accurate to the design that half-life 2 uses. Even if it's ten to fifteen seconds it'd be fine, the rockets just shouldn't be able to fly forever. :v:

Does any game even have that mechanism? It's seem like a such a petite thing that no one ever bothers with it.

Then use a different recording application instead of FRAPS or just use the Source Recorder and output to either RAW (w/ TGA and WAV) while then putting it all together in VirtualDub or through recording to MOV (h264) considering AVI support had been removed.
good recording alternatives: dxtory, open broadcast software
OBS is best though

That could work I guess but I thought that adding an advanced options menu where every optional feature could be possibly included should work fairly well, which I think would be pretty neat seeing as everyone would be able to customize their gameplay style however they wish, although even if some of the enhancements would be enabled by default I wonder if a certain system like this would work.
I really liked what OpenXcom did, even implementing some extra gameplay features from the next games which are entirely optional but really do improve the overall experience.
uh, did you replace the rocket launcher or were you still waiting on sargent99´s model? he thinks you have another one
We don't have any rocket launcher model yet. Sargent99 just stopped talking to us and posting stuff for a loooong time so we assumed he no longer wanted to work on the mod anymore.
Kwant's going to be doing the weapon models for us now.
the current infini-rocket approach is fun to mess with, but it's silly.
Why remove something you admit is fun?
he was gone somewhere, I think he would still be willing to at least give us the model and maybe have someone finish what´s left to do.
Why remove something you admit is fun?
Noclip is fun but if you're seriously telling me it should be a default thing, just... just no.
Noclip is fun but if you're seriously telling me it should be a default thing, just... just no.
Removing and defaulting are two different things
Why remove something you admit is fun?
Because as long as we're enhancing things from the original game, I think the fact that you can shoot a rocket and then point the laser guide at a telephone pole to have the projectile do circles around it as long as you have the game running should be changed.
Removing and defaulting are two different things
Not in this case, no.
Besides, are you saying games should just be "fun" and not at all create worlds that make sense or that are in anyway believable? Having the infinite rocket is just silly and makes no sense, it doesn't fit.
You used a strawman to compare a player having noclip by default, to removing a rockets infinite span.
i think we should let the developers decide this because that is their job and not ours
If it ain't broke, ugly, unfitting, or low quality, why fix it?
This isn't FF:Cinematic Mod.

In addition to this, I think there is too little feeling of isolation. I mean who knew there would be fucking bucketloads of ammo conveniently laying around.
In addition to this, I think there is too little feeling of isolation. I mean who knew there would be fucking bucketloads of ammo conveniently laying around.
While I admit that giving such an amount (basically infinite) of rockets each and every time there's a gunship or large amounts of enemies is not really the best idea, changing it would require drastic changes in design, so it's really not a great idea.
you know if you guys really don't want infinite rocket flying why don't you just count to 5 and then crash your rocket?
