It also stays for way to long. It should be a lot quicker if anything
I like the way how it gives off actual electron particles when firing, and the color of the beam is nice, but yeah, the laser should last quicker.
Also, there aren't any differences in size and/or color when the beam is charged; it looks just like the primary fire beam. Compare it to the Vanilla beams, and BMS's, for instance:
It says "357 magnum," which is the type of bullet that you put in the gun. Sure, it doesn't say "Federal" on it, but most of the guns are made up anyways - is it really a problem if there's generic ammunition?
You can't read the "federal" on the bullets in normal gameplay, so I don't really know how changing it would affect the game at all.
Is a texture change too much to ask for? The attention to detail in this mod is looking pretty bleak.

It was already said, we're redoing all the textures, and that so happens to include the ammo box, it will be corrected.
If not, feel free to shoot me a nasty email after we release.

I'm just saying, man. A lot of minor suggestions for the mod seem to be rejected frequently. It's the little things that make things special, you know?

Don't be too quick to assume so, there's a bit of behind the scenes documentation going on, Only the stupid suggestions don't get taken into consideration
The same guy who is currently making MMod, also made this:
Should this be the basis for the new Tau particle effects?
Maybe the charged effect at most, but that's just ridiculous for the regular, high interval shot. :v:
Is a texture change too much to ask for? It's meant to be distinctive and clearly show what ammunition it contains. It's 20 years in the future and they're under combine rule. To be accurate, all the ammunition should be in blank cardboard boxes.

It takes awhile to remove the arms and ammunition from people who don't want you to have them.
The UN thinks otherwise
The UN thinks otherwise
And they're wrong, believe it or not.

20 year old boxes of ammunition, stored where they are (in canals, under bridges, etc) is not going to fire very well.

They're not 20 years old though. They're the exact same issue of ammunition that the overwatch presently uses. It's incredibly likely that this is where the rebels got ahold of a lot of their armaments, given that it was still possible to be a part of overwatch without being a surgically modified transhuman.
But Overwatch doesnt issue 357 magnums

Who says they aren't reusing boxes?
It seems very unorganized just leaving your ammo in unmarked things.
But Overwatch doesnt issue 357 magnums
You don't even see a .357 until the water lock held by civil protection way past Route Kanal. :v:

Well it seems very unlikely every box is in pristine condition, which they are.

It's also very unlikely that said boxes would be strangely blurry, but they are.

Probably because they are reskinned HL1 boxes?

In the same vein as the Magnum's worldmodel?

[editline]when[/editline]
Great, now I just noticed that it says "Colt Anaconda" on the side of the Magnum instead of "Colt Python".
If that isn't a mistake, I don't know what is.
seems kind of proportional to one:

The python and anaconda are pretty similar.

But the Anaconda can only load .44 Special, .44 Magnum, and .45 Colt, not .357.
Sure, you can argue that it's a jury rigged/bastardized version of the same weapon, much like the USP Match, but still.
[editline]when[/editline]
In fact, it say's Colt Python Elite instead of Colt Anaconda on the side of the viewmodel.
The wiki:
"Colt Python Elite" can be seen on the weapon's Source viewmodel. However, the worldmodel has the words "Colt Anaconda" on the side.
I never suggested it was one or the other, just that they're close enough so it doesn't really matter unless you scrutinize it. :v:
Originally it was a .44, there are even fvox sounds calling it a .44. They probably changed it to a Python when they realized the Anaconda didn't to .357 but the worldmodel texture was never updated. The reason for the change in caliber itself is beyond me.
What if it says Cult Anaconda and you're all mistaken?

holy shit you re right!!!
The Magnum sure hits like a .44 in the game. I still can't wait to see what you guys come up with for it.
Make it a .44 and every time you run out of ammo near a rebel have them say "You feelin' lucky, Dr. Freeman?"
looks like valve utilized this pic for the world model texture

Oh wow that is spot on, even the reflections match. I think you're right.

Well yeah, Valve didn't exactly go and make all their textures.
IIRC they've even used some decals made by someone here at Facepunch in L4D2
