I could have sworn that I read that there actually was supposed to be a gargantua in half life 2. An early concept for the train ride into the city was supposed to be as long, if not longer than the sequence in half life 1. There were two sets of rails and there was a garg on the other set of rails and the other train ripped right through it. I also remember seeing a video about Freeman being brought into Eli's lab and Eli shows him a slide presentation on all of the things he's missed, explaining the combine, and the creatures. The presentation was like the flashlight too, so the player could move it. I can't seem to find it anymore though.

Like if you actually want to help the dudes who make it, there should be a google doc about textures so you could try your hand at some of those. Not sure if it has been updated or anything.

I'm an animator. I was going to see if I could parent different parts of meshes to different bones at different times so I could have the magazine come off when the player reloads, as all as improved thirdperson animations but I got stuck and was unable to complete a prototype.

The AI's actually pretty decent, it's that Valve decided to stuff all of the enemies into tight corridors.

SMG always felt kind of flaccid to me, you know? I never really felt the recoil, it was like a toy gun. AR2 was great, crossbow too; but SMG being one of the main guns just didn't do it for me. But judging from this thread not a lot of people agree with me.

Combines are extremely spongy. If they're not standing in one place, they're probably running towards your stupid face like a suicide bomber. And after they'll run to you, they'll make a circle around you and will stand in that place until they feel like running into your face again. Is it just me who feels this way?
All I wanted was a slight buff to snipers. Seems like even a simple damage change is too much to ask for.

Sets how much damage sniper rounds do to you, default is 20
If you want instakill snipers, feel free to set it to 1000

FYI the only reason the faces were released was for people to use and have fun with, and because those aren't the final textures. Every character model's getting updated in higher poly, and with new, higher res textures. That's also the reason why I never did the body textures, because they will never be used, whereas the faces can serve as a base for building off of when the final models are produced.
And yes, I'm still working on this mod. As mentioned before, discussions and progress/pictures in this thread =/= progress, etc. being done on the mod.
Also I do actually work on another project as well (no more room in hell) so I get to juggle working on one mod one week and the other the next. Sometimes just a mix of both.

The idea is pretty good but be careful to not change anything on the game like the levels path or other things like that,do not add new weapons,remember that your works is just to enhance the game,not to add things in. Stop suggesting game changing mechanics, stop altering the lore, and stop hinting at anything that does not contribute to the progress of the project. The purpose of this thread is for the creators to share their work and progress. Not to suggest features that the developers have aleady thought of.
And that's a terrible analogy, you cannot compare a thread on the internet to a fucking car. Threads are not machines, they do not drive, they do not operate, they just exist for their self-defined purpose, and if the users are off topic 95% of the time, then those users should stop posting and wait until actual progress is posted.
