No, not that shit again. Valve, GSC Game World and ID software just used the same libraries of the textures and models. They did no steal textures and models from each other.
They are actually using at least one Stalker model, as of now. Launch the L4D2 authoring tools and search for "zapastl" in the model browser (it's a wrecked car model). But it's likely an oversight, as I personally haven't seen it used anywhere. There are also tile wall textures straight out of Clear Sky, in the "srp/stone" folder.

That was very likely intended for the boring Cold Stream campaign, but ended up not being used.

srp? Sure that's not a custom texture from a stalker roleplay map?
That was my first thought too... :v:
Heck, even VALVe used STALKER models in L4D2
Can you list them? I am genuinely curious.
And I used those libraries too, no harm done
Link? I'm curious to know how much it costed.
Link? I'm curious to know how much it costed.
Although when I say I used those assets, I just extracted them from STALKER
i wish to know this library too, maybe i can find some models used in various valve betas
when you look directly at the libraries that were used for the sounds in hl2 you discover some interesting things, for instance, the sounds of the poison headcrab biting the player, are the same sounds of someone biting into an apple lel.

What? Cool, you have more examples?

I have the exact bases used for the shotgun and mp5 in hl1, the mp5 sound is the one of a m60, the shotgun is actually from a distant mossberg, the smg sounds in hl2 are actually from a sorta distant ak47, also have the original bases of the wood destruction sounds.
also the muffled cry sound for ravenholm, is the sound of a¡gagged woman, is a cut segment of a 30 seconds long sample, sound ideas ftw, that is where I get the bases for my sounds too.

I've always wondered about the sound design of HL
don't they use foley sounds for shit like footsteps and rustling clothes and whatnot?

Love to have a link to these HL1 weapon bases.
what happened to the greenlight page? was there a post regarding it being removed here?
Looking back at the various videogame models Cold Stream in L4D2 used, I realized many of them are from either the Garry's Mod map gm_forest (did the creators of that map give whoever made Cold Stream the rights to use 'em?)...and then one table model has "fallout" in its name, Fallout 3 or New Vegas, I wonder?

It's hidden now, for some odd reason.

Post a picture of the table model. I'm a sad human being, I would probably recognize it if it was from Fallout.

Gonna be honest with you, I severely doubt it's going to be from Fallout.

Ken controls it, don't quite know what's up, I've brought it to the attention of Porky earlier.

I had to find a missing content.vpk, which includes models that were in Cold Stream but got removed in later revisions. The description states that Valve removed unsourced content when SteamPipe for L4D2 happened.
huh, really does kinda look like it could be from fallout...

looks more like a modified HL2 table
looks more like a modified HL2 table
Maybe find a table in the two games that looks similar to the pictured one? Requesting a comparison.

Or quit being lazy, open up GMod for 10 minutes max, and spawn tables until you run out.
Ok, so the guy who was making this shit l4d2 map used some stolen props, then Valve removed it later...
even if the table was from fallout, who cares?

It's not that easy, especially when you have to find Fallout model packs around here.
Isn't Fallout sprites and tiles? :v:

Fallout 3 and New Vegas
Isn't Fallout sprites and tiles? :v:
The first three Fallouts (Tactics is the third one) were like that, it was also where ex. Ian can't use miniguns because...he has no frames for them, probably for the best because burst weaponry for companions = tragic end like with many players.
Speaking of sounds, I think valve has a torture room. There is a ambience sound file in Half Life 2 that when played backwards, it is a guy screaming and another guy saying F**K
