You've doomed us all. :v: Along time ago in a 3d modelling programme far, far away I made this:
Have this replace the strider you fight in the Citadel.
Huh, i remember seeing that image! How long ago was this?
2007. Oh boy I've been here a long time.
Speaking of striders, in the HL2 E3 video Kleiner's lab was high enough that a strider kneeled (?) down to look inside after it blew apart the wall. Maybe this could be a reference for the exact location of the lab?

The lab is on the second storey, so if it were standing on the street outside in this pose its body would be below the floor. It could poke its head in if it were standing up, albeit a little higher than you see here.
The lab is on the ~3rd floor I think. It's difficult to say because of how the levels are designed, many buildings have floors that don't match up. In this case, that building is roughly 2 stories up, with the lab on the third.

Alright, I figured out what was throwing me off whenever i tried to orient myself by counting the elevation of Point Insertion in my head. The exterior Apartment is 5 stories tall, including the attic. The interior Apartment is 6 stories tall, including the attic. HL2' Devs have poor concept of consistency in elevation :v:

Going by the part you see in d3_c17_02, it doesn't look like there's enough space between the ground floor and the lab to fit in another floor between them, and the elevator shaft you drop down only has stops for the lab and the ground floor.

Technically it's on the second floor, but it's about three stories off ground level.
Ah, fair enough, I misunderstood!
For comparisson: [t]http://i.imgur.com/tMbs2Yq.png[/t][t]http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/2167/o7oq.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/JwWvFF8.png[/t] [sub]Left = old. Right = new[/sub] Also, I want to know why you guys save your critiques until after the model's been UVmapped and has entered texturing stage, every single time? The metrocop model's been in the works for a while, and there has been ample time and pictures for you guys to look at and give us your opinion on- so why do you wait until it's been UVmapped when it's gonna be a pain in the butt to change a part of the model?
From that angle, it looks fine, I don't think it's a big enough problem to warrant redoing an entire model for. It probably won't be noticeable at all once texturing is done and it's properly lit
Better? [t]http://i.imgur.com/QczgNL4.png[/t]
I like the subtle blue.

I didn't notice the altered gas mask until you posted the close-up of the face.

Then when it gets UVmapped a while later people go "Oh this doesn't look just right. This part looks horrible. this needs to be change, etc. etc. etc.". It'd be nice if we got that stuff before it was UVed. This just keeps happening a lot on here, I just wish people would post stuff before a model's UVed. I'm sorry if I sound rude, I'm not trying to be, I'm just kinda fed up.

It's hard to see fine details in an overview image, and without fine details its easy to blame anything which looks "wrong" on lack of texturing.

If anything, we should be using that Gordon Freeman model at the end of the video instead of these weird party guys.
i love how they announce everyone except gordon freeman's name

I'm genuinely sorry I didn't catch it earlier and deliver my feedback then. I hope I didn't trouble you too much (I did). The only "good" model is The Gordon Freeman one (well, at least the model look like him) Well maybe not that much :v: [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/595880712207107935/8CB7B9AF65F000BAA7FD2395651EC7AA2DB34088/[/t]
That afro needs to be in this mod. That afro needs to be this mod.

(not a surprise, looking at its texture file, they sourced the Survivor model from said mesh) Too bad it's horribly low-poly and has smoothing errors.
