Do you not realize how ridiculous they would look :v:
I love the old design, but it'd probably be too controversial, not everyone shares that sentiment.
I much prefer this kind of a "super soldier", cut very late in the development. It would actually be cool to fight them in the citadel (where they were intended to be met), especially if they could only be killed by plasma balls or enough physics damage. Would provide a nice change of pace from mindlessly taking down the regular soldiers with the upgraded gravity gun.
Those were removed because of their height. They're almost twice as tall as regular soldiers.

Where'd you find that, I've never seen it mentioned before? RTB says it was removed because of "problems using an overtly alien creature in the alien citadel", I assume players didn't make the connection that those were once human, so they were dropped in favour of a human Elite.

Also, I'm not actually sure how tall they are :v:
is this half-life 2: we enhance everything with stuff from the leak?
That's what it says on Combine Overwiki and Half-Life wiki. Also, I'm not actually sure how tall they are :v:
Those wikis are both full of shit. I'd rather not cite that as my source since they're making most of their shit up.
Those wikis are both full of shit. I'd rather not cite that as my source since they're making most of their shit up.
I cited it as my source just to show that both of the wikis contain wrong information. The size thing isn't even on RTB.
I thought that the DEV team clearly stated on the OP that they wouldn´t add leak stuff.

They've taken the human's basic shape and flexibility and added Strider-like armour, completely protecting the head. What you have now is a human synth (the soldiers aren't really synths, just cyborgs), which isn't even immediately recognisable as human. I'm not sure they'd fit into the HL2 story, though. Freeman started blowing stuff up before they ever got this far. I guess you might see some in vats in Nova Prospekt or the Citadel as experiments, but not actually seeing a living one fighting you.

Sounds more that they didn't fit the style of human+alien of Half-Life 2 (that would make citadel 100% alien and no human except for stalkers)
i was so excited when i saw this for the first time.
I can't help but wonder if that thing had a head. It's not visible in any concept or the famous image from the leak (the thing above isn't official from Valve before anyone suggests that).

Why not have a train halt at that section that in turn prevents you driving up onto the bridge. Once the player enters the lower section of the map (and beyond the point of return) have the sound of the train starting up and moving off. Then the second train would be heard as normal.
Is the train part really that big of a deal? Also can we please stop discussing all this HL2 Leak stuff on here?
Well, it's just when people read
while adding a few new gameplay additions to freshen up the experience
they subconsciously subtract the word "few" and post their ideas here. It's just facepunch being facepunch.
Too alien in an alien setting? whaaat?
Did you read my post? They didn't want any location to be completely alien, they wanted always to maintain a human/alien balance.
This is looking awesome! Keep it up guys, don't give up! :3
in chapter 9a 'Entanglement', there is a diagnostic display with Eli in the pod, but the diagnosis shows a FULL left leg, rather than the prosthetic! this should be fixed
The projected man seems to be holding a cane as well, oddly enough.
It's probably just a generic human picture/symbol and what's written on the organs/parts are the actual scan/info.
I always assumed that's what it was. The proportions look different from Eli anyway. They look like your typical 'male human' graph.
and either way its just nitpicking
Anyway, as you can check in-game, is too shiny the screen to see something properly (unless you see it on the HLMV or on their textures). I suggest tweaking their settings too.
any plans on incorporating this?
Will HL2 Enh be making fights a little less tutorialized and more difficult? Like how in EP2's antlion defense with Griggs and Sheckley they first take the time to explain everything and build up the difficulty.
This mod only covers HL2 as far as I know, not the episodes. And probably not.

The game will still play the same as HL2, it will just look better.
