Black Mesa replaced theirs. I'm not sure what the point is, it just says "ERROR SUCCESS" instead of "ERROR", but they did.
It's an old windows (also programming in general I think, not sure) joke.
Advisors
The HL2 one has an eyepatch me maties :yarr:
If it helps, this was the pink/black checker replacement I used:
Isn't Pink and Black easier to spot at a distance since it surely stands out?
I have an idea. Along the coast, you could see the Beta Scout Car crashed along the side of the road or something. You could pick the engine up with the GravGun, put it back in the car, and get an achievement. Achievement: The One Free Repair Man
Isn't Pink and Black easier to spot at a distance since it surely stands out?
I think that was the entire point behind the color scheme. Plus it's like a staple of HL2.
Isn't Pink and Black easier to spot at a distance since it surely stands out?
It's also a complete eyesore.
It's also a complete eyesore.
well yeah it better be since it's the last thing you want in a shipped game
the cat achievement is really easy, just put a piece of meat somewhere that yells out "meow" but that is just unnecessary
So was the gnome.

I've always been baffled by this.
Would you mind posting a video (or writing a tutorial) of the process of (re-)making textures? I've always been baffled by this.
THE SECRET MUST NOT BE REVEALED
Using the classic FakeFactory method of resize + sharpen filter :P?
Would you mind posting a video (or writing a tutorial) of the process of (re-)making textures? I've always been baffled by this.
I guess I could write one up on Gamebanana or something sometime.
I guess I could write one up on Gamebanana or something sometime.
Please do it.
It should be like the gabe room in half life 1. Just tilled cats.
Gabe Room? [editline]10th July 2013[/editline]
Hey, thought I'd stop by. I was just playing through HL2 again and I remembered that it's still using that Advisor model from 2004 even though Valve has had a newer, cleaner model since '07. Will the Advisor's model be updated to the newer model, and, while it also be getting a texture makeover as well (for either model, new or old, they need it). Comparison for those who have forgotten: [thumb]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090604205310/half-life/en/images/4/41/Advisor_hl2_model.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090604205310/half-life/en/images/c/c9/Advisor_Ep2_model.jpg[/thumb] Stupid jpegs.
I think someone once had the theory that those are actually different types. Like one of them is an adult and the other one is just a younger one. Then again, this theory might've been put up to give a bit of reason to the different looks.

When you guys are remodelling and retexturing the guns, please take this into account, if you can. It may be quite pedantic, but it will solve some inconsistencies
Can we have a secret room with all the Fakefactory character models popping out at you with Gy Ligeti Requiem playing?
5 gigabytes would be taken up just for the textures of alyx's ass.
Due to the max texture size in source being 8192x8192 it would have to be have to be in 8 parts of 8192x8192
Due to the max texture size in source being 8192x8192 it would have to be have to be in 8 parts of 8192x8192
ONLY 65536 x 65536? God Fakefactory's creator really is becoming bad at this.
Fakefactory's creator
Yeah right :v: Until now, I thought that Fakefaktory was the guy that created Cinematic Mod, not the other way around ... :P
We'll be using the old model for consistancy (or maybe make a new model for it, based on the old one) with a new texture. To me, the one in EP2 is not the same as in HL2 for a reason. My thoughts are that the one in HL2 is some sort of Advisor 'commander' or 'dictator' of sorts, and the ones in EP2 are either new and improved versions of the advisors (talking about their species 'evolution, not model quality), or just newly '"born" Advisors.
Awe. Okay... I guess I'll have to wait for the far-off-probably-not-gonna-happen-Episode 2-enhancement-project for my wish to come true... (Unless somebody would want to reskin the psychic space potato from Ep. 2 regardless of what happens with this mod.....)
I figured they'd patch up the advisor model because we'd be seeing them a bit more 1 on 1 so they needed to look better. I'd take the EP2 model as a retcon for what they all look like.
Yeah right :v: Until now, I thought that Fakefaktory was the guy that created Cinematic Mod, not the other way around ... :P
Shh, I haven't slept in ages and the website literally calls it "FakeFactory Cinematic Mod" Not FakeFactor's.

If we're going to be pedantic, we might as well fix the SMG's mag size, as well as the SPAS-12.
No. One is a sound level aesthetic change and the other one is a mechanic change. They're on two different levels. Though I would like to see some citizens using the USP Match. I'll admit it kinda distracted me that no one had one but me.
