Yeah I don't get why people change the headcrab, other than being so much of an Alien fan. Anyway, I don't think anyone here's advocating changing anything like that.
I gotta say though, despite the criticism's I saw earlier, I actually love the Helicopter sounds. I think those were definitely headed in the right direction, although slow.
from the cinematic mod? are you serious? unless he is now using the sounds from that pack (for which I was completely unaware because he did not say anything about using them), then nothing in it has to do with the cinematic mod. He used a lot of borrowed assets which he doesn´t mention where they come from, like things from metro 2033
As far as I know, I never played Alien. Cinematic Mod is where I first heard the different sounds of picking up items sounding like clothing n' fidgeting with coins.
"sound/items/ammo_pickup.wav"
With regards to the headcrab, I don't think we should changes its sounds. The basic headcrab has had the same sounds from the very beginning and I seriously doubt it'll have different sounds in the next Half-Life game.
well, don´t worry because the headcrab isn´t changing here, the sounds and stuff in that video are not exactly the ones for the mod
Eh, I am taking care of the sounds already, the guns will be a lot more realistic, but will still resemble the default style
Before, I released these

Hey, it's my Combine grenade skin at 5:35. Cool to see someone using it after all this time!

The Spas-12 sounds resembles a lot the sounds that it has on the leak. I like it.
Also, as is seen at the video, we can fix this annoying bug that has the AR2 at the cannon part?:

*Crappy photo taken with Gyazo directly from the video*
That part should be close completely, but most of the times it doesn´t. You can see it clearly at the video.
It's supposed to open as the gun fires as a heat sink thing. This is visible in Xbox versions of EP2. Maybe have an idle animation where it jams open and Gordon slaps it down?

eh, is pretty great skin man! :)
And then it becomes hilarious when sprint and flashlight share power
The flashlight is powered by breath :v:
What about separating them like it was in EP2?
I like how the guy who thought full body awareness was changing the gameplay too much wants to get rid of sprinting in favor of faster movement speed. That alone is a bigger change than giving gordon a body, and actually effects gameplay, something adding a body does not. :v:
Also sprinting isn't outdated or pointless, take a look at how many new games still use sprinting.
I didn't say sprinting is outdated, having a sprint meter is. It's like having lives on a NES game, it's pointless, lives were made for arcade games so kids would use more quarters. Sprint meters do nothing but annoy the player.
What about separating them like it was in EP2?
In EP1 though, Alyx talks about getting you a new suit flashlight.
If there was a way to do that without actually breaking the plot then I'm up for that.

I like having it when my Sprint also depletes my flashlight and my oxygen. Having it all combined as one meter makes sense and makes managing power easier.

I made that joke AGES ago, man!
Yes, Marphy Black, because I was late on creating my own joke.

Well in EP2 they at least split the flashlight away into it's own meter.
Well in EP2 they at least split the flashlight away into it's own meter.
And so does this mod. I don't mind keeping the Sprint meter at all, but meh.

Uh... you realize that sprint meters are a pretty big game mechanic, right? Having a limit to your sprint means that you can't simply blast past everything by running full sprint all the time.
Can you imagine how piss easy of enemies antlion guards would become if you could simply sprint endlessly around them? You wouldn't even need to bother with zombies or normal antlions because you could just run away from them.
When sprint's metered, it means that you should only use it when you need to.
infinite sprinting is only justified when your primary weapon's official factory-printed designation is "B.F.G" and you're about to jellify a planetful of 7 ft tall homicidal aliens

If this is true, I want then a heat effect. Or the animation.
Does only me thinks in EPI2 the flashlight restore it's power too fast?
I mean, in HL2 still haves a delay, and if you try to use it again while charging it will drain the power faster
In epi2 you can leave it on all the game if the power runs out is charged in one sec!
I just realized something for HL2+Episodic+GMod.
Hand Grenades float in water v:v:v

Maybe as ammo they float.

Are those leaves in the grass? I am gonna look like an assholish nitpicker but I guess it would be kinda weird if there would be leaves somewhere where aren't no trees as far as you can look.
No, there aren't any leaves, just clover.

Nah, they're grass plants. I dunno what they're called, but they're very common.

...I'll never take my glasses off again. Fuck me for this, sorry guys for being an idiot.
I have a suggestion for the roads, what if some of the roads have cracks as a decal instead of part of the texture? The idea behind that is you can have the pattern less obvious in areas where the player is likely to linger. You could also use that decal to make the collapsed roads and areas around them look more broken up than the rest of the freeway.

This is one of the things I hated about HL2, that we don´t have those as decals, but yes in HL1.
Yeah, thought of that, but instead of decals, the road is a blend texture so you can paint the cracks on the road. Also they have their own bumpmaps, which isn't possible with decals.
