And there's the attitude that loses you games. Guess what? If you really are good at Dota, as in good enough for your MMR to improve, then your team has 4 randomers and 1 guaranteed good player while the other side only has 5 randomers. Your team might have some guy who instalocks mid and goes and plays pudge badly, but that [I]doesn't matter[/I] because the other side is going to be making just as many dumb mistakes. What makes the difference is your ability to keep your team together despite any failures and to encourage them whenever things go well.
If you just sit back and think "oh well this peruvian/brazilian/russian/other scapegoat nationality has gone mid and picked pudge, game is lost" that's a poisonous thought that will negatively affect your play for the rest of the match. If you vocalise those thoughts, then you've just negatively affected your entire team's play. If people are flaming in chat, don't respond - just mute them and concentrate on playing well. I'd say maybe 60% of the time when I have a team that's doing poorly early and getting mad, just muting them and playing well leads to a turnaround later.
Of course there's always a portion of games where you [I]can't[/I] turn things around. But those just stick out in your mind more because losing sucks.

Well, he's not wrong. Right now, the highest rated player, DragonFist, only knows how to play 2 heroes. He's got to 7.4k mmr by just playing TA and storm.

So what the fuck is this 'overall skill' you're talking about? In order to be a 'good player' you need to be able to play every hero at a professional level? Bullshit; there's well over a hundred heroes in the game and just because you can't play all of them doesn't mean you're somehow less of a player than anyone else.
All Pick gives players the chance to get good at every hero through repetition. The '3-4 heroes you can play' becomes a much larger pool, just like with Kondor; he never played Syllabear before. Sure you can play all random or something and be forced to play a different hero every single game, but in the end you're never going to get good at any single hero if you spread yourself so thin the entire time.

I had a DREADFUL game where I had to play jungle Alchemist because I was forced out of lane by my teammates.
I tried my best but on top of jungle alchemist being fucking trash, a Bounty Hunter COMPLETELY fucked over ALL of my attempts to farm anything for the first 12 minutes.
I was level 6 13 minutes in.
I did my best to be useful and it was hard to be relevant when I was so far behind.
The gold curve was ridiculously one sided the entire fucking game.
But we won.
We fucking won.
I have seventeen deaths, I died literally every fight except the very last one where I got away with 3 or so HP before regenerating it up.

I told my team, "you're going to need bkbs," around 10 minutes into the game.
I stopped bugging Pa about it when I realised that Omni was keeping Repel constantly up on her but I reminded Shadow Fiend that he would really need one after he got his Mask of Madness.
The rest of the game consisted of me saying things such as, "Quick, buy an Ogre Club, you literally have 1000 hp," or
"Omni, are you playing support?" or
"Nothing they do is blocked by armor."
He finally bought the Mithril hammer after all our barracks fell but I'm not unconvinced that it was a maelstrom or a desolator.

Single Draft, so my options were Dragon Knight, Ogre Magi, or Weaver. Thought it'd be best to go Ogre since we had a Razor, Axe, and Veno.
I ended up going mid against Sniper. Thought I was screwed, but nearly got first blood, and after first blood (which Riki got at level 6), got a kill on Sniper on my own.
Sand King and Razor were laned against Riki. Neither bought Sentries. In fact, I was the only one that did, and that was after Riki decided to start roaming.
Even when trying to help top with Razor and Sand King, I got bitched at to push mid and that I was a scrub.
Razor kept complaining about "newb cannons" on the other team and Sand King called the enemy team niggers and cunts. Axe gave up when we lost T2 mid, even though we just pulled off a successful smoke on Wraith King in the jungle, spent the rest of the game in fountain or in trees.
I hate when a game looks like it'll be in our favor just to lose it because the rest of my team believes they are carry material and the moment they get slightly behind, that's it.

This game started out with me randoming Kotol and another guy randoming Jakiro.
Jakiro instantly says SWAP KOTL, I say no, he says WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU and starts flaming me already then just because I won't swap.
He talks about how much better he is than me and that he has played for much longer than me.
I buy courier wards sentries because I'm kotl, he goes mid as Jakiro and buys a second courier 30 seconds after I bought mine and then pretends like he meant to do it because it was "a courier for LC" (he was jungling, LC never used "his courier")
He barely keeps up in levels and xp to me kotl when I don't leech ANY XP from Bristleback and only pull camps.
I think "Oh, it doesn't matter that Jakiro is fucking retarded as fuck, because we are STOMPING at top lane" as we kill Mirana for the third time.
We get a good early game and life is good... Then everything goes to shit. I see Bristleback as fuck-all farm despite having freefarm and free kills. I see Jakiro decided to make a 2nd mek 8 minutes after me, as his first item, barely keeping up with my farm even though I've been buying massive amounts of wards while he has literally bought zero.
Don't let the XPM fool you, because it was a ninety minute game it normalized the XPM for everyone. He was lower level than everyone else despite having solo xp and mid lane farm.
The enemy starts winning more and more fights, things look grim, I decide to become Furion.
We can hold them off, but they buy a bunch of rapiers and we are unable to win any fights against the rapiers.
They push into our base, but I get a genius idea.
I had already ratted out both their tier 4's as well as a bunch of rax, I bought a desolator and tped into bottom lane which was defended by a Rubick, the creep wave was inside their base so getting there took no time, and I manage to push down the ancient before any TP's get home.
Also, Jakiro didn't know what re-crow or re-use courier meant, he constantly stole the courier without saying so to anyone, he kept using macropyre to farm creeps, he never used macropyre in a good spot, he barely did any good freezes, he was fucking always out of position, pushing the mid lane solo with a Spirit Breaker around, he refused to listen to anything and only spoke to flame, and he was overall a fucking retarded piece of shit who probably never played dota 1.
Lastly, like Jakiro's liquid fire propritization (yes he maxed it last), he decided to make a fucking scepter 60+ minutes in when the enemy had a ton of bkbs.

They had a Pheonix + Skywrath + Earthshaker lane so our laning phase was pretty difficult to say the least
They had an OD so our mid went Drow but then they repicked so mid got absolutely wrecked as well
However, I said that if we can defend long enough their team would hit a wall. After getting a rax and a tier 3 they hit that wall around 30 minutes. It was pretty much just me and Lina spamming creep waves until they tried to push in and got absolutely destroyed

This was a match that had both ancients exposed but the reason we lost is because nobody fucking realized I had relocate and could easily teleport someone to the ancient and whack away at it, which I demonstrated by myself at one point but nobody gave a shit about it.
I think I did good as Io, but I haven't a clue when my entire team couldn't speak a lick of English and I was being yelled at by Puck in a language I didn't understand AND in the end he freaked the fuck out and yelled "REPORT REPORT UN ASCO" or something like that.
What a... weird game. First time playing Io and I feel like I did things wrong but did things right as well???
