there's two 4g ones. one is a single slot and one is a dual slot. the 100ME is just a single slot but it has the same power of the ladder 4g one for the same price
the only difference is the clock speed it looks like, but that really doesn't mean much since their clock speeds are so overkill it shouldn't make a lick of difference in the first place. i guess the drivers just don't like your card unfortunately
it begs the question though: why do they need three versions of the same exact card? like their differences are so benign there's no reason for there to be so many
The one I have has the same clock speeds as that 100ME
670, i5, 8gb ram
Runs like a dream on high
Long shadows confuses a lot of people. What it does is doubles the distance a shadow will cast from a small, thin or very distant object (like a bird, a telephone wire or a skyscraper)
This is most noticeable in the evening
i've noticed the difference between high and very high doing this myself, not the long shadow function
it was my assumption that long shadow is supposed to keep the shadow resolution high at distances farther than three feet out. when you're walking around the shadows immediately around you are incredibly crisp and detailed, but then they just instantly transition in to lower resolution and blurrier blobs
you'd also think if that's not what long shadows does, HD shadows would do it. but that doesn't do shit for it either
the shadows are hands down one of the worst thing about the pc build. they look great up close or in high speed motion but they often just become blobby messes otherwise
I'm genuinely curious exactly what tricks they used to not only run the game on the same consoles that GTA4 was pushing, but to run it better than GTA4 on the same PC too.
Like seriously this game looks twice as good as GTA4+ENBseries at double the framerate for me.
GREAT now i CTD during the "Loading Story Mode" bit of the intro when i haven't touched any of my settings at all anyone happen to know of a fix for this?
the worst thing for me is the vram memory leaks. or some kind of memory leak. i'm using a 660ti right now and it can run the game relatively high (I keep textures on medium just to be safe) and the first half hour or so is great, but if you do a mission or two by the third the game will have so much microstutter it's unplayable
I think it just caches too much world data and instead of dumping it, it just holds on to it until everything is a fragmented mess that doesn't get erased until you exit the game. gets really annoying online

oooh and now it's telling me my social club account is logged in elsewhere apparently great
I don't know how you guys can say this is a good launch, it's a good port is what you are meant to be saying.
The launch is horrible, it takes ages to download GTA5 digitally, the updates as well. Even if you went physical you still have to download the update, and since my internet is shit, I went physical to avoid downloading.
It's a good port, but not a good launch. Rockstar really should have made some alternatives on downloading the updates and game.
It takes ages for Australians. A lot of the world has better internet than two cans on a string.

Also is it fine if I Max the vram usage on my gpu?
I made it a point not to play or look up anything about this game until it came out on PC. You can imagine how much fun I'm having.
Also is it fine if I Max the vram usage on my gpu?
Mine is slightly over max and it seems stable. I wouldn't be too afraid to put it just a pinch over the limit.
since release, i couldnt figure out why i was getting less then 40 fps on all maxed on my setup... went into nvidia control panel, and found out my sli was disabled. but still even then one 760 2gb was great. and im sure once more patches come out it will get even better.
Also some things it claims use VRAM don't seem to at all. GTA5 thinks I'm using 2150 when my GPU analyzer is only reporting ~1950
oooh and now it's telling me my social club account is logged in elsewhere apparently great
change password. mine did that too. weird stuff
i thought i would be playing this game tonight but i guess the mobile steam app is a piece of shit liar. said the install was complete but i get home to see it paused at 49gb downloaded
No crashes, runs great for me. I'm so glad I waited for the PC release. Like holy crap, this is a fucking awesome game.
Even though I was getting decent frames before, I seem to get higher and more consistent frames with MSAA/TXAA disabled and using FXAA instead. As much as I don't prefer FXAA, I prefer higher framerates and lessened jaggies, so I'll live with it.
MSAA, extended shadows, and extended distance rendering seem to be the main performance culprits for me. Everything else has little to no performance hit when cycling through settings for them.
I also love how NVIDIA PCSS seems to use less VRAM than the softest shadows the game provides while looking a lot better.
DS4 works for anybody wondering (USB. haven't tried bluetooth but why wouldn't it work).
Only difference from PS4 is instead of clicking touchpad for camera/quick menu it's the share button.

Modern i5 or i5 from 6 years ago?
Requested an invite to the crew, name's LiquidTetra.
My first online tutorial race was hilarious. I started at the front, and some guy in second place did a U turn at the start and blocked everyone off, so most of the race i was racing with lamar. Everyone else crossed the finish line like 30 seconds after me.
Anyone know what file formats are supported for Self Radio?
Anyone wants to hang out with a newbie in North-America?
i am seriously getting tired overclocking my cpu, just so i could have faster loading times and playable framerates

haha yeah, i love how almost every setting to the game has almost no performance hits at all
honestly the game runs so well for me but the microstutter UUGHHH
so i made a video in the director mode but i'm apparently retarded and just exported the video to my computer and didn't upload it to youtube directly through the game
it's my pathetic remake of hobo with a shotgun, only he doesn't have a shotgun or plot.
Anyone know what file formats are supported for Self Radio?
it should support MP3/WMA
if you want to add FLAC songs, idk if it's supported

hahaha is it the hobo you find by trevors place? the special character unlock that has his own tweaked out hobo animations?
if so i think i made the same exact movie
if you must know he goes on a bloodbath at LSU after getting in a fistfight with a security guard and gets a hold of his pistol
the director mode is unfortunately really weak. i wish you could do more with it. it prevents you from being able to do any activities or find hotspots or anything. i hope this is a feature you unlock later on because just yoinking a cast member in to the game world and going on a killing spree gets pretty dull. it needs to let you add vehicles and other actors and stuff for you to use in your films
So i'm 53/55gb downloaded, that's with the 5gb retail patch and 300+mb patch applied. Anyone else get this?
oooh and now it's telling me my social club account is logged in elsewhere apparently great
It does that because it thinks you're still logged in
Just login again
Don't need to change your password
I ran task manager while playing and noticed that the game uses all 6 of my cores.
That's fucking cool.
Also my total cpu usage stays under 30% on it.
Is anyone experiancing random freezes during missions?
I appear to be freezing all the time during mid-mission and it prevents me from playing the game until I forcefully close it. Kinda really annoying since the game worked perfectly yesterday, minus an overheating issue on my GPU.
Yeah I am freezing now in online... It definitely wasn't happening yesterday???
