interestingly when the game starts it tells me that "My computer does not meet the minimum recommended CPU Frequency specification", when my CPU is an i7-4702MQ (Acer v3-772g). surely this well and truly meets the minimum? if so, should i be concerned whether or not my laptop's running at its full capacity?
-snip-
the game farts out CPU/GPU warnings all the time. it's one of the first settings in the graphics menu that you can disable. it says you'll hit a loss in performance but HAH, you'll lose it anyway after prolonged periods of playing
GOD FUCKING DAMMNIT
It will not absolutely not connect to the internet. It forces me to offline and will not connect to the internet and I have no idea how to make it do so.

shows 2.2 base and the min is 2.4/2.5
Yo yo yo, add me, GabenTheFatman if you're currently playing.

ah yeah you're not wrong. i've actually never noticed that "up to 3.20GHz" thing until now, so i'd be safe to use that throttlestop program that Everything mentioned to bump it up a bit? deadset i'm fucking useless with this stuff hahah

Pull up a packet sniffer, see if any network logs to rockstar are readable
Where exactly do I contact them? I've had the same issue. Rip my beautiful Bullet GT.
Of course I had 2m so I bought a new car but still, I want my old one too.

Modern i5 or i5 from 6 years ago?
I5 from 2013

I didn't expect the game to run as well as it does.
No framerate drops what so ever, even during heavy action. Still 60 FPS. Not even a stutter or graphical bug so far.
I can't find ANYONE else with the same issue as me. I've like reinstalled this fucking game like six times, patched the thing, uninstalled, reinstalled Social Club and all this other bullshit and it still won't work.
Just will not connect to the internet.
I literally bought my new computer just for this game and I can't fucking play it.

serious question: is windows firewall blocking it?
or any firewall for that matter. windows firewall popped up when i opened the game first thing
addendum: is it the launcher that won't connect or the game itself? and what do you mean won't connect to the internet. it won't connect to online or it won't let you even play story mode?
How are people setting graphics higher than the limit of their card? Whenever I try. Even a couple MB over. It just tells me that it exceeds my graphics or some such.
Running on normal settings on DX 10 at 1920x1080p at 60hz with a constant like 80-100fps on a 560 TI. Am I missing something?

in the graphics menu it's the first option. it's like "warn me if I exceed GPU limitations" or something. just turn it to off. literally the first option

Holy cow I'm a moron. Thank you.
Any jobs you guys recommend?
Done a lot of deathmatch and racing
Still can't get past the Launcher.
So in the consoles, headlights have this "dims everything else so they actually make it harder to see" effect.
Is that on PC?
Hopefully there will be a mod that makes it actually hard to see at night. Realistic nighttime graphics are underrated!
It's hard to see at night on PC. Flashlights are actually useful now. I got fucking wrecked during an online mission because I wasn't prepared for the nighttime.
Any brazilians wanna help a brotha out? You guys can get this for like half of what us europeans pay :v:
The contrast isn't so shit like it is on the consoles, either, so now you can put your brightness down to have dark nights and still have bright days.

I've given everything GTA related exception in the firewall and likewise turned it off to try that. Doesn't matter.
It doesn't connect as in I'll launch GTA and it will load and than the launcher will say "Offline Mode only works for fallback accounts" or some shit which means I can't play because I haven't been able to log into social club with my account credentials because the launcher/social club won't connect to the internet to let me log in and create an offline fallback account.
My only saving grace is that I backed up my GTA5 profile so I can put that back into the Social Club directory and play my single player save but Online still won't connect so I can never play online mode at this rate.
I'm literally considering reformatting my computer and starting blank. ATM I wiped everything GTA related and I'm redownloading it one last time.
I'm officially impressed with this game (PC). I'm a big fan of games that take weapon sounds seriously.
This game kicks the living shit out of even the Battlefield games in terms of weapon sound effects. I was in Sandy Shores shooting a sniper rifle just for the hell of it and you could hear the shot echo off of a nearby hill.
It's even more impressive with surround, making it a directional echo that always comes from that hill.
Great job Rockstar, you officially blew my mind with something as simple as weapon sounds.
All this time and I've barely progressed in the story, I've just been running around in first person sticking my face in everything. Haven't even left Los Santos.
Also, if I max out all the settings I get a solid 15 fps. Getting between 60 and 90 with a mix of mostly high settings. Still having some pop-in and world-disappearing issues though.
If you want to buy GTA V from a Brazilian site you could just use a VPN.
They won't have steam keys though.
Has anyone else had a problem where the game randomly pauses for no reason? It's not really a serious problem, but it's starting to get on my nerves a little.

could be to do with that "pause game if game loses focus" or whatever option in graphics settings.
Friday morning PST i'm thinking of going through the heists. I haven't done any of them as the host, just been joining others in random parts of heists. Anyone up for it? I think the first few parts are only 2 people, then the more difficult parts are 4.

it happens sometimes when it's lagging. you can disable that in the game settings. i'm not on my computer to tell you WHICH setting it is or where it is, but it's there. you'll know it when you see it.
i just remembered. it's in the graphics options. it's called "pause screen on focus lock"
Is there a level requirement for flight school?
Also what are some other things I can do at level 5 that are both relatively low risk and profitable (5k+)?
