Played it on my laptop. Took me more than 2 hours to get it working. The options reads about twice as much vram being used than what is currently available at around 1000MB/500MB. So whenever I change the settings for lower vram usage, it complains to me I'm using too much vram and reverts to default. This also means I'm stuck on 800x600 windowed. I could probably mess around in the launch properties and try individual options but I'm happy to get the game working at a decent FPS. Honestly, I rather trade low FPS for higher resolution so I'll probably work something out.

I think Boris is mostly talking about modding in terms of ENB modding for shaders/graphics, and even then people always found a way to work around with the file systems and such on each GTA game (and Max Payne 3 which is the most recent similar engine structure too). Also the guy has a bit of an ego problem and really does get dramatic fast and is a huge baby at times too.

Why do I always get people who leaves the lobby before the heist even starts...

Im (still) waiting for the rest of the 5gb to download and youve got me worried about my i7 920, though it is overclocked to 3.4ghz. Can run BF4 on Ultra at between 60-80fps with a GTX970 so hoping Ill be OK.

So this port is pretty ace. Running it on a i7 Extreme @ 3.6, 16Gb DDR3 and a GTX 780. Running on V.High/Ultra (can't remember what it's actually called), and like most, getting 50-60FPS. I've had to drop down MSAA and other settingsto keep it there, however. If you've had it on a console before, and are fortunate enough to use said consoles controller on your PC, I'd recommend using it for flying. As mentioned a few posts above, the integration is smooth as silk. Jump into a plane/chopper and as you're getting in, you've got enough time to grab your controller. You can leave it plugged in and it doesn't interfere until you go to use it. A nice touch IMO.

I suggest lowering shadows and grass quality. Also make sure to disable the settings in Advanced, HR shadows, extended distance, etc. FXAA isn't that demanding if you want a little bit of AA, or you could use the Control Panel to force AA that way. Also the 860 is a Lynnfield processor well over 5 years old. Still not a bad cpu but definitely won't be able to play at max settings with this. The 970 is kickass though! My 4790k is kicking ass although it gets pretty hot considering it's overclocked and running on an H100i.

If you're going to0 fast and hit something the wrong way you'll go flying. Pace yourself with the speed and take breaks downhills not pedaling. I suggest taking a bike through the mountains to learn the basics.

so how do I make a ps3 controller work with this i tried installing this new xinput wrapper thing but my controller doesn't work with any game, followed the instruction step by step several times i used to use better ds3 but that required motionjoy to be installed first and motionjoy apparently is shit, although at least it worked?
