Turns out that when Windows update and Avast took a shit on each other the other night, they decided to hose SCP. So now it's fixed and I can play as easily as if I was still on the PS3 :D
Does anyone know how to fix the crashing that occurs when your game tries to save a recorded clip? Annoying as hell, especially when the editor is so fucking fun to play with.
There are a few settings that make a significant difference in framerates. I suggest lowering shadows and grass quality. Also make sure to disable the settings in Advanced, HR shadows, extended distance, etc. FXAA isn't that demanding if you want a little bit of AA, or you could use the Control Panel to force AA that way.
Also the 860 is a Lynnfield processor well over 5 years old. Still not a bad cpu but definitely won't be able to play at max settings with this. The 970 is kickass though!
My 4790k is kicking ass although it gets pretty hot considering it's overclocked and running on an H100i.
Thanks for the tips! Did some more research and tinkering around and got some good settings to run at least around 50 fps, doesn't really look bad either. It's interesting because BF4 runs very smoothly on highest. I suppose some games are just more CPU dependent than others.
Either way, thanks again for the suggestions, you are a good person.
PC here, I rarely find populated session unless I get invited by friends or I restart GTA:O over and over til I get one
Does anyone else have this problem?
installing now fuck yeaaaaah

this installation's slow as balls fuck noooooo
To come back to modding, something should be made clear for all of you.
.rpf files are encrypted, and they contain most, if not all the files of the game. If we cannot access them one way or another, and inject / replace some content inside them (and i don't mean just viewing their content) modding on GTA V will simply not exist. Not a single, tiniest bit in the universe.
Now i'm not implying anything here, we're just one day in and it's too soon to ring the despair bells, but i just want you to undersand how it works. Rockstar pretty much locked out the files as hard as they could, most likely to guarantee that GTA Online doesn't go to shit too quickly (i'm also sure various DLCs and paid content have part to play in this but whatever). The problem is that, by doing so, they successfully made the game unmoddable period. At least until someone manage to crack down the encryption, which can happen in a day or never.
I still have an issue where, after logging in and starting the game, it freezes when the logos appear.
And yet someone has already managed to make a trainer, which also works online.
Do you realize trainers have absolutely nothing to do with anything right ? To put it simply a trainer modifiy memory addresses and values, it can be applied to virtually anything.
Modding, which implies accessing files to replace / modifiy content, is a totally different thing. Thing currently impossible on GTA V at this time.

changing values in ram or whatever isn't changing assets
Contemplating Box
Do you have an aftermarket cooler? 212 evo will keep those temps down!
I have the 212 evo which is why I have that horrible feeling that changing the thermal paste and dusting isn't gonna do much but its the cheapest option so I would rather start there.
any of you wanna help me with the prison break heist? it's my first time.
Think I'd be able to pull off medium/high settings at 1600x900 with a GTX 650 and a 2500k at stock?
I've look around here and other forums and couldn't really find anyone with a similar set up. I saw a GTX 660 could play the game at 1080p60 but didn't see at what settings, but I'm assuming medium.
I hope someone mods in Niko as a playable fourth character. It could be pretty cool.
I'm blown away by how good of a port this is. I'm running on mostly high settings across the board on a dated GTX 570 and I'm getting 30-50 FPS in the downtown area.
Any tips on which settings impact performance the highest?

570 bros. I switched to DirectX 10.1 and it became a lot smoother. I'm running at 2560x1440 with no AA, high textures and most other settings on "normal".

I think it's shadows and textures that impact performance the most.

I haven't tried DirectX 10.1. I'm a whore and love all the post processing, what do you lose when switching to 10.1? I need dat DOF, shit is sexy.
Which 570 do you have? I have the Asus 570 with Direct CUII, this bitch right here

I'm down for it.
If there's still room that is.
I will gladly help anyone with levelling/heists. I feel, as a level 196, that I'm obliged to lend a hand to you newbies

Accepted, friend.
Does anyone on PC have an UNMARKED Bravado Rumpo? Or know where to find one?
I can't find one fucking anywhere, and the ones you order online have this really bad news van logo applied to them.
Requested an invite, would someone let me in? :)
why are the arms so much less detailed than the face and chest?

2 hours unpack gl hf
I figured out a solution for the whole "broken fog" issue that a few people running on older machines or using lower graphics options.
Example (Not my pictures, from earlier in the thread):
[t]http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/46501956597346354/E5F0676228F54F7E678C6EC7323178892BA310E9/[/t]

Seems like it's caused by using DirectX 10, just set it to 10.1 or 11.
10.1 hasn't affected my framerate at all (It's actually running slightly better), I haven't tested 11 but I could imagine it knocking you down a few single digits.
God I hate my GPU.
To the crew? What's your name?
Coffeescript. If anyone wants to go on a holdup spree later, I'm down. Just bought a Dukes and customized it fully, looks mean as hell.
Popped a raging boner when I realized, in first person view, they added supercharger noises while you accelerate. Hearing "vwhirrr" when you floor it so satisfying.
R* pls animate the blower belts and blower rings. I would cry.
Where are gallery pictures stored?
