Grand Theft Auto Series Megathread V4 - 3 and 1/2 Years in the Making: GTA V PC - Games

Sooo... some YouTuber by the name of Silentc0re wants to feature my Forklift video in a series he does called "Random Moments in GTA". I have one question for him (if he'd be presenting the whole video, or a short clip of it directing viewers to my upload to see it in its entirety) but I've personally never heard of him or watched any of his videos. Anything I should know about this guy?

What did you people do while waiting for it to download? it's at like 10 hours left and I can't think of any more shit to do while waiting due to not being able to play online shit due to it gimping my connection.

That fucking prison break is absolutely fucking awful shit. And so is everyone I had the misfortune of playing with trying to beat it. On five occasions the ground team gets themselves killed. Yes, send the Level 1 and the Level 10 in to the prison, they will surely be fine. Make your best player the demolitions just so you can play pilot. Then send the level 10 in with a Level 128 who magically has never even started the heist tutorial and still had to get the heist board intro. Yes, definitely do some stupid pirouette nose dive in to the ground to avoid the fighter jets. Yes, you should definitely land on that little one lane road trapped between hills with police helicopters and swat vans crawling all over your ass instead of the massive, open airfield, then crash in to the swat vans. Yes, fly low so that the helicopters and the swat vans can still shoot you even in the air until your engine is so damaged that the helicopters are faster than you and you can barely stay in the air. Then, when the game finally lets you bail out, the game should just blow up the plane even though no one was near it to damage it except the NPC that is supposed to be flying it.

Then I tried something else...I turned off Shadowplay and quit Geforce Experience and I was able to play for ~100 minutes without a crash. I don't know if it was just luck but worth a shot? I heard someone talking about the game might not like overlays, such as the Shadowplay stuff and fps counters. Although I still had steam enabled I may try disabling that as well if it crashes again. I don't know what else to do honestly. I've tried pretty much everything except lowering down to DX10 (hell no) and installing W10 (buddy uses this with same GPU and has no problems).

Playing the prison break heist Right at the end, after about 6 attempts, we were in the final cutscene when all of a sudden it said "heist failed, target died" We don't even know what caused it So, 5 attempts later, while parachuting down at the end, one of our teammates timed out and again we failed We've been at this for 4 hours :v:

Are loading times around 10 minutes normal for GTA:O? I've got the game installed on a decent SSD and it seems to just fuck around doing whatever for between 2 and 10 minutes every launch. Just now I had to wait 8 minutes.

am I the only one on earth who can't play this? it hangs up on the social club launcher. if I make a new account I can play fine except for Online. No, I don't have any special characters in my username, and I already tried all the obvious stuff.

Every time I rank up, my game crashes before it can save. I'm forever stuck at rank 20 I guess

Am I the only one that found the police in this game to be ridiculously difficult compared to any other game in the franchise? It used to be that I could shoot it out with the police for hours. Now, I have about 30 seconds before the helicopter shooters whittle my health down or somebody gets close with an OP shotgun. It almost takes the fun out of it. The only shooting I have any hope at surviving is the tightly-scripted missions.
