My friend just bought this, and whenever he runs it, it says he's playing it for a moment via steam, but it closes and nothing happens. His card is a Nvidia GTX 670M, I was wondering if anyone could diagnose the problem.
If it's the retail/RS version, you can't run it through a non-steam game, game doesn't open right
Nah, he bought it through Steam.
Nah, he bought it through Steam.
Try disable the in-game overlay, just to test Actually I should check mine if that's why I can't run it via a non-steam Otherwise, check /My Documents/Rockstar Games/Grand The[..]/Bootstrap.log and Launcher.log Errors are logged there
One hour later and GTAV is still loading into storymode. Yay.
Make that two hours now. What the fuck.
Reformatting my computer worked. No idea why it didn't work before but now it's flawlessly working.

Run game and now the rockstar launcher will actually launch. Before game actually starts up from the launcher, enable dGPU again. Im guessing the launcher fucks up when you have switchable graphics.
Make that two hours now. What the fuck.
DO NOT attempt to use other programs while it's loading story mode. As long as some other program has focus, GTA V will not finish loading. You can have other programs running, but keep GTA as the active window until you're actually in story mode.
On a side note, this was the only problem I've experienced so far. The game has never crashed on me yet, it has only minimized randomly on occasion but that could be other things.... My only complaint is the load times and the weird vsync behavior.
btw guys end the GTA5Launcher when the actual EXE launches. It pretty much doubles your FPS and stops stuttering.
Make that two hours now. What the fuck.
Wait, you're actually sitting there letting it load for 2 hours? I'm sorry, but what is wrong with you?

I had a lot of weird stutter which was solved by closing my browser and etc. You gotta remember that everything uses a bit of vram, so unless you've got a high end GPU it's a good idea to close things.
It's so god damn annoying that when I try to join a heist and it's full, it exits the free roam session and loads an entirely new one. Takes so long. Just send me back to the same one...
How do I sign up for the facepunch clan?
Wait, you're actually sitting there letting it load for 2 hours? I'm sorry, but what is wrong with you?
GTAV takes 1-2 hours to load each time I play it. Haven't found a fix yet.
And for best performance, close programs in general when playing.
btw guys end the GTA5Launcher when the actual EXE launches. It pretty much doubles your FPS and stops stuttering.
I tried that and my game started crashing When I let it run my game stopped crashing THESE ISSUES ARE SO INCONSISTENT :v:
I tried that and my game started crashing When I let it run my game stopped crashing THESE ISSUES ARE SO INCONSISTENT :v:
If you have an Nvidia card, you can launch the game through Geforce Experience and the launcher will close like it should.

Can anyone help me get a Duneloader?
Sounds like the installation messed up, you may want to reinstall.
Did that many times. And also verified the game. No files were bad it said.
Im guessing the launcher fucks up when you have switchable graphics.
It does confirmed issue
No other program is open, GTA V never lost focus. GTAV takes 1-2 hours to load each time I play it. Haven't found a fix yet. Only thing open was Steam.
What the hell are your specs? Also what hard drive are you using?

Most evil and surefire way of serving in tennis: go to the far edge of the box opposite to the one the other player starts in and then serve either an extremely fast or slow ball with the aiming handle directly on the line of the bar that is closest to the opposing player. 33% of the time they'll be caught off guard and miss, another 33% of the time the ball will bounce in their box and then fly off to the right, preventing them from ever hitting it, or else they'll hit it into a penalty zone. It's almost impossible for someone who is unaware to counter this serve.

I wish more race hosts would set the class to muscle cars. Luckily I've found the super-well-hidden buttons that allow me to begin a new session and also enforce that I stay host :v:.
If that's a potato, it's some kind of golden potato.

that's not a potato
I know it ain't. I just said that because everyone seems to assume if you can't run GTA V properly, you have to upgrade. My PC should not have any trouble runing this. From loading, to it running like shit in 1080, and beyond.
I can't finish the first heist mission, AKA the scout the bank job. Every time I finish it, when I get to my garage, I end up stuck there being unable to do anything, or if I tag along, I end up falling through the earth. Any fixes?
