oh well thats just another 8 hours of waiting
I'm not sure if it's just idle animations lining up, but if you're driving in first person and you stare at an npc that pulls up beside you, they actually stare back with a distressed expression on their face.
The details are getting so small that I can't tell if they're actually coded anymore :v:.
Start revving your engine when at traffic lights and some npcs will race you

Should chuck an FAQ into the new OP,
I would also like to suggest a list of players who have access to hosting heists, seeing as there are people here who lack a highend aparartment to do host one for FAP themselves

Sadly this didn't help me but maybe some other people have more luck.
I hope someone will make a mod that replaces the GPS by the last gen version.
I really don't like the new watch_dogs-ish GPS, mostly because of this :

The objective looks like it's in the 3rd block down the road but it's actually beyond the edge of the GPS screen. This is pretty confusing.
I really hate how the map has aliasing.
how fucking hard is it to draw a something that simple with AA.
I think this is the first game I've ever played with such a crazy amount of detail. Fucking amazing.
Where do i change the GPS to use km instead of miles?
Where do i change the GPS to use km instead of miles?
I checked, but I don't think you can do that.
anyone else get much lower framerates out in the country? i have everything on the highest it'll go, msaa off, all the advanced graphics off and get 60fps in 98% of the city but out in the sticks even with shadows knocked down to normal i get between 48-58

Turn down the grass detail.
Turn down the grass detail.
i'll give it a go now, requires a restart so didn't try it at first
does the grass look like shit afterwards though?

this is america, we don't use that nonsense.
I can't even ride a bike. :'( Losing health just getting on one. I know it's a stamina thing, but how am I supposed to cycle with Jimmy if I keep falling off the bike barely moving.

Holy shit that actually fixed the stuttering for me, might have been a placebo effect, but the problem is windows allocates the paging file to my ssd which is not happening.
Gotta wait for rockstar to fix their shit.

Depends on what you put it on.
The difference between High and Ultra is that Ultra has grass shadows, I think.
After that the density decreases. Below normal and the grass loses the sprites entirely and grassy areas are reduced to a flat texture with a bush here and there.
There was a detail comparison posted a page or so back that explains it better.

This doesn't actually "fix" the leak though.
What is happening is, as GTA5 leaks memory, its requesting additional memory to be allocated.
When you go over a certain % of your RAM, windows starts swapping in virtual memory on your harddrive. This swapping is causing the stuttering, as the game has to wait for the assets to be loaded.
And doing so in swap is sloooow, compared to RAM.
The problem goes away, as you are forcing the game to always use RAM, and never swap, or swap from a smaller pool/different drive.
It might work, but setting virtual memory can have consequences for windows/game stability.
Eventually though, this causes the game to crash because it's starved out of memory, possibly causing your OS to kill the application outright to prevent windows becoming unstable.
If you have plenty of RAM, its not a big deal. But if you have enough RAM, you wouldn't be swapping as much.
It's essentially a trade off. It could eliminate stuttering, but it can also end your session rather... abruptly.
I guess save often, and restart every few hours or so and you should be fine.

The text when you complete or fail or whatever a job aliases and that really bothers me. Other than that the game is nearly perfect. I especially love how my characters look now.

change your game to french
because yes for reasons the distances are tied to your language

There is no excuse for a non pixel-perfect UI, drawing 2D stuff is not performance intensive.
this is america, we don't use that nonsense.
you mean you use nonsense
This is the most complicated virtual bike riding I've done...
Uhh the solution for "Rockstar game services are unavailable" was to change DNS to 8.8.8.8 - 8.8.4.4 for me.
Had another go with the editor, it's really enjoyable to use, quite simple and intuitive, shame the song was picked up by Youtube (hopefully they wont actually spam ads on the video), I thought the editor songs were safe for Youtube but apparently not all of them.
A positive thing is that exporting in 60fps doesn't seem to take much longer than exporting in 30fps.
So, GTA V killed my PC. Didn't even have it for a year. Never had any problems until GTA: V
Care to elaborate? Perhaps you pushed your rig a little to far? Perhaps it has nothing to to with GTA.
This video just goes to show how fucking good the NPC animations and interactions are in firefights. Like how one guy actually has an animation for reacting when a guy next to him gets shot, how injured NPCs move on the ground and even attempt to still fight. I haven't seen pretty much any other game do that stuff so well.
Today I had 4 stars and was on a rampage, and I saw a cop dragging another injured cop out of danger. It's probably the first time I've seen this so it was quite interesting.
Is there a way to change the flight controls so that it can be done with mouse?
Keyboard flight feels awkward as hell.
The Journey is not paintable? Fuck. It looks like a chunk of junk.
There goes my dreams of camping and meth cooking.
well after changing some settings, i can pretty much run this at max, but i get microstuttering in certain areas and if i go too fast in a car in other areas.
