your dog doesn't wear her collar all the time?
If I take the collar off my dog she goes crazy and keeps nudging your hand until you put it back on.
For the sake of those just joining us in GTA Online I'll post which cars to get in terms of racing. What I mean by this is that these cars give the greatest chance of winning, since the other cars are too far away in terms of lap time.
You can buy other cars that you like for racing, if you want, but make sure to check here first: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nQND3ikiLzS3Ij9kuV-rVkRtoYetb79c52JWyafb4m4/edit#gid=1687911233
All data that you see was collected by the wonderful Broughy1322.
The first cost is how much it is to buy from either southernsanandreassuperautos.com (for cheaper cars) or legendarymotorsport.net (for expensive cars.) The 'race modify' cost is how much extra it is to get all required race mods, which are: Race Brakes, EMS Upgrade (Level 4), any spoiler (this is important, since spoilers give you more traction), Race Transmission, and Turbo Tuning.
Keep in mind that if you're just starting out, you won't have access to many of these mods initially.
Compacts: Declasse Rhapsody (140,000 to buy, 165,500 to race modify) or the Benefactor Panto (85,000 to buy; 165,000 to race modify.)The Panto has insane acceleration but it's easy to knock about with other cars, while the Rhapsody is more balanced.
Coupes: Ubermacht Zion (60,000 to buy OR steal it, 114,525 to race modify) or the Lampadati Felon (90,000 to buy; 52,000 to race modify.) The Zion has a very large amount of traction and this is what gives it its edge, but if you don't handle it properly the Felon is a better choice. The convertible version of the Zion has the same states as the hardtop version, but the Felon GT is worse than the Felon (i.e the four-door version is better than the two door version.)
Cycles: Race Bike (10,000 to buy OR steal it OR simply choose it when doing a cycle race.) The Scorcher, the next fastest bike, is 24 seconds behind it, so the Race Bike the only logical choice here. Cycle races aren't very popular though. Each different racing bike has the same stats.
Motorcycles: Bati 801 (15,000 to buy; 45,700 to race modify) or the Dinka Akuma (9,000 to buy OR steal it; 45,700 to race modify.) Lap times here are close (00:59.341 vs 00:59.644), so either is good here. The Dinka Akuma has better acceleration than the Bati 801, but can't wheelie as far. Note that these lap times only happen if you wheelie the bikes. The Bati 801 RR has the same stats than the Bati 801, but is more expensive, so don't get it unless you want the liveries.
Muscle: Vapid Dominator (35,000 to buy OR steal it, 114,525 to race modify) or the Vapid Blade (160,000 to buy; 165,550 to race modify.) Lap times here are close-ish (01:09.805 vs 1:10.407), but the Vapid Dominator can be unstable if not controlled well. The Vapid Blade is actually the third best muscle car; the second best is the Imponte Dukes. Since the Imponte Dukes is exclusive to returning players, however, you won't be getting it any-time soon.
Off - Road: BF Bifta (75,000 to buy, 52,250 to race modify.) This is the best car purchase for off-roading. Unfortunately, the best vehicle overall in this category is the Maibatsu Sanchez (7,000 to buy OR steal it, 45,700 to race modify) with a lap time of 1:06.635 compared to the BF Bifta's 1:09.401. However, you have to wheelie with the Sanchez to get this lap time, and in some circles it is frowned upon to use it in off-road races. Both version of the Maibatsu Sanchez are the same.
Sedans: Benefactor Schafter (65,000 to buy OR steal it (they are rare to find; look around the Golf Course); 114,525 to race modify.) Seriously, this is the only viable car in this category (the next fastest, the Obey Tailgater, is 1.3 seconds behind it (1:10.874 vs 1:12.149.))
Sports: Elegy RH8 (Free if you sign up for Rockstar's Social Club, which you have to in order to play on the PC; 165,500 to race modify.) This is the undisputed king of sports cars. While the next car behind it, the Racecar version of the Dinka Jester, is close (1:03.542 vs 1:03.731), the Dinka Jester costs a lot more to buy (515,550 to buy AND to race.) Plus, its price of FREE makes it the best choice bar none.
Sports Classics: Trufadde Z-Type (950,000 to buy; 158,500 to race modify) or the Lampadati Pigalle (400,000 to buy; 165,550 to race modify.) While the Truffade Z-Type has the fastest top speed in the game, the Lampadati Pigalle is a better choice as it is less prone to spin-outs, corners better, and is better value for money in terms of lap time (1:10.204 vs 1:10.637.)
Supers: Pegassi Zentorno (725,000 to buy; 165,550 to race modify.) This is the fastest car in the entire game with a laptime of 1:02.069, and it reaches that lap time more readily than the cars behind it. However, it has been shown time and time again that you can beat it with the Overflod Entity XF, the Grotti Turismo R or the Pegassi Infernus as long as you are better than the person(s) driving the Zentorno, so don't despair if you can't get it.
SUVs: Enus Huntley S (195,000 to buy; 113,025 to race modify.) There is no better SUV; the next SUV (the New version of the Gallivanter Baller) is more than 2 seconds behind it (1:13.704 vs 1:16.007.) The SUV class is the class with the second biggest difference between the top two cars. What is the biggest, you ask? Glad you did...
Utility: Vapid Sadler (35,000 to buy OR steal it; 89,250 to race modify.) This class has the biggest divide between the top two vehicles, with the next fastest being the Nagasaki Caddy (lap times being 1:20.378 vs 1:41.581.) That's a 21.473 second difference! Plus, the Caddy can't be bought OR upgraded, so don't drive the Caddy in a race unless you want to lose.
Vans: Declasse Gang Burrito (65,000 to buy; 52,250 to race modify.) The Bravado Bison used to be the undefeated king of this category, but since the latest update, the Gang Burrito removes all of the competition.
Cars you get from southernsanandreassuperautos.com: Declasse Rhapsody, Benefactor Panto, Ubermacht Zion, Lampadati Felon, Bati 801, Dinka Akuma, Vapid Dominator, Vapid Blade, BF Bifta, Maibatsu Sanchez, Benefactor Schafter, Vapid Sadler, Declasse Gang Burrito.
Cars you get from legendarymotorsport.net: Elegy RH8, Truffade Z-Type, Lampadati Pigalle, Pegassi Zentorno, Overflod Entity XF, Grotti Turismo R, Pegassi Infernus, Enus Huntley S.
Bikes can be purchased from pandmcycles.com.
This post took me a loooooong time to make, so I hope its of some use to anybody.
I gave into the pre-purchase, mainly because of the pre-load. I feel guilty and dirty.
144 new posts... was expecting launch trailer
So I just type in Grand Theft Auto 5 in google and got this.

Wait really? I've been playing since the launch in 2013 and never knew this.

off topic
My/our dog lives pretty wild. (Well, except that she sleeps in our bed) We've got a small piece of land (or a large garden) with no fences, and the road has almost no traffic, so she usually gets to leave the house and do as she pleases... the collar just isn't necessary except for the actual walks where I sometimes have to grab a hold of her when she's playing with other dogs and ignores a car that's coming or stuff. Another reason may be that we just haven't found a nice one yet. I guess I'll have to have one made or make one myself out of a nice piece of leather.

Yeah, sorry for OT. On topic, I had to reboot my PC because of the R* launcher's memory leak, and 2 GB had disappeared from the counter afterwards, but a minute later the counter jumped back up to where it had been before. So far, it looks like i'm one of the few people for whom the R* launcher works.

Yeah, I can't remember the update that did this, but it changed things massively for the racing part of the game:
For instance the Gauntlet muscle car used to be useful in a muscle race, but since it doesn't have a spoiler it dropped massively in the list.

Please GTA V, don't be a pain in the ass to mod.
Meanwhile I'm hoping for a few things out of this PC release:
1) complete utter elimination of the taxi bug (for high end PCs especially)
2) online play w/ visually moded cars - i.e importing real life ferrari models into the game files
3) police ai & spawning to be fixed/moddable
4) proper LCPDFR mod
5) proper zombie apocalypse survival overhaul mod
something tells me, if we ever get a server browser, we'll be seeing a lot of servers named with the tag: "REDUCED COPS"/"NO COPS"
Has LCPDFR said anything about them moving onto GTA V?
Has LCPDFR said anything about them moving onto GTA V?
I believe some of the devs have experienced interest.

More like servers that instantly give you billions of dollars when you join and get you banned.

Cops are the best part.
in other news, time is a shitty concept. if clocks didn't exist, waiting for the release wouldn't be such a chore.

As I remember they're way more aggressive and are much harder to escape than in gta iv. or did they change it? I haven't played in more than a year.
Yeah they're more of a cunt in GTA V than GTA IV, but not impossible.

You know what else is a chore?
the cops
AKA fun police no fun allowed you can't punch somebody on the top of chiliad we are watching motherfucker
Them being psychic is what sucks. Or behaving like magnets and going towards your location in the middle of nowhere when they didn't see you escape.
Well, got into an Argument with my family, looks like it's back to the Social Club Downloader.
i've been hearing that a lot and it's growing to be one of my biggest worries about gta 5
people say that even if you kill an isolated npc in a remote location with literally noone around with a silencer cops show up
It can happen, I'd say probably 60% of the time it happens to me.
I really hope someone releases a police mod shortly after launch.
Please GTA V, don't be a pain in the ass to mod.
They've already done like trainers and such for the console versions so it'll probably go pretty fast
would be amazing to see a custom online gamemode where it'd be some kind of team deatchmatch between human players and player controlled animals
coyote would be op
I wonder how in depth mod support will be for GTA V, and also STEAM workshop support? That'd be nice….
